This modern reimagining of the Shirley Jackson novel follows siblings who, as children, grew up in what would go on to become the most famous haunted house in the country.. Now adults, they are forced back together in the face of tragedy and must finally confront the ghosts of their past. Some of those ghosts still lurk in their minds, while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House. The ensemble cast includes Oscar winner Timothy Hutton, Carla Gugino and Henry Thomas. Mike Flanagan, a veteran of the horror genre, created the series.

SPOILERS alert: Fairly well done but I think some of Flanagan's other work is much better SPOILERS alert: Well, although I feel they did most of the 2018 Haunting of Hill House series well, I think it was at least two episodes too long, I didn't like how much back and forth between two periods in time there was (a rather extreme amount), plus re-playing handfuls of scenes in a different context. Mike Flanagan's "The Fall of the House of Usher" series was much better and succinct.

A horror masterpiece that sticks with you for a long time. Mike flanagan's Masterpiece that redifined what a good horror show should be. With strong performances and alot of standout moments this is easily the best miniseries ever made.

Favorite show of all time. It re-defined the horror show drama with clever transitions between scenes and also transitions between future and present. The acting is phenomenal and every character you will end up actually loving and maybe relating to (horror movies/shows usually end up falling really short of this). 10/10

First of all, the show is extremely vulgar; if you are a Christian, you will be highly offended by the blasphemous use of the Name of Jesus, even by the children. The F... bomb is used by nearly every cast member repeatedly too. Aside from this vulgarity, the story is very tedious. The series did not need ten episodes. Everything drags out slowly, and is unnecessarily repetative. I stopped watching after the fith episode, and good riddance. If you want to watch the original movie, it is superb, minus the vulgarity.
