This Bible is amazing. It’s an easy read with great study resources. Original Hebrew names combined with historical context leads to a deeper understanding of God’s word. Also it has three place markers.😀

I enjoy reading this Bible that has a decidedly Jewish flavor to it. As it is a study bible, it has many additional features, mainly boxes with explanations, and a glossary of Hebrew words used. Also many quotations from honored Rabbis. Good and short introductions to each book.
One area of concern. This Bible is apparently edited by one scholar instead of a team of scholars. That means you get only one point of view. Not a real deal breaker for me, but I read it more as a single-source expository and take some things with a grain (or two) of salt.

I have some study Bible like NKJV study and MacArthur study Bible but this is what is need when someone want to understand the Jewish culture. I already know before Acts 20 verse 7 was used a word "Sabbatov" - in Greek - but I never understand how become in translations like - first day of the week - but now I totally understand because that is in a Jew calendar the first day of the week which is Saturday evening and the reason the Havdalah ceremony. That is change everything! Who can know better that than a Jew! I like how in the NT highlighted the cotes from the OT. That is make more sense both testament are connected strongly. I recommend everyone who study the Bible and searching the truth.

A friend loaned me his copy of this incredible aid and I instantly loved it. The front matter, alone, is almost worth the purchase price. Compiled and translated from ancient texts and supplemented with commentary entirely by a Messianic Jewish rabbi, David Stern, it is a masterpiece of rare insights on the nuanced Bible history of both the exclusively Jewish Old Testament as well as the predominantly and centrally Jewish New Testament. But he doesn't stop there. In his somewhat unique position as both a respected Jewish rabbi and a devoted Christian living and working in Jerusalem, Rabbi Stern is especially sensitive to the social and cultural disparities and misunderstandings that have long separated the two faithc ommunities. Where appropriate, he addresses many of those differences -- and similarities -- in a forthright, respectful and productive manner. In my view, this a magnificent and overdue contribution.

The book itself features informative sidebars with beautiful script and colorful images, the hardback binding is solid and the presentation is elegant throughout. Rabbi Stern's work is highly innovative in that he makes no distinction between Old and New Testament page numbering (hence, "Complete" BIble), uses Hebrew and Greek person/place names where suitable (with a pronunciation guide) and frequent sidebars to explain the nuances most Gentile Christians like myself don't find elsewhere.

I could go on. Suffice it to say I've used the same marked-up Lockman Foundation NASB study bible for 40+ years; this book now sits alongside that one on my desk. Don't hesitate for a moment... buy it!

I'm a Christian who has several different versions of the Bible - NASB, ESV, NIV, KJV and a couple of others, and this Jewish Bible is an excellent complement for them. It is interesting to compare the wording as well as the spelling of the various historical characters and while it doesn't contain voluminous notes, what it does have is very illuminating and educational. I find it valuable to read the commentary in the book that is from a Jewish perspective; it definitely promotes a greater understanding of the most wonderful book ever assembled.

I decided to keep it, because, after all, it came with wound and scars, like me, and Jesus Christ heals!! The cover got a stab which is almost completely through and it has an opposite inside bulge. I posted photos so sender will know packing is inadequate; needs at least a bubble wrap. And buyers will be aware it may arrive damaged with this package. Also, selecting “new” meant they would send me a used one, without disclosing this to buyer. It came with a name and number and date in cover, stick on tabs and some highlights. Otherwise clean pages and only one pencil note I see. I like the Introductions and short articles for scholarly understanding, especially in OT Torah. I find it overall acceptable to my Bible library and happy to have a faith sister’s hand me down. GoD’s Word is pure truth guidance wisdom

I had TCJSB in 2020. Its a totally a new experience and learning. The Jewish Festivals , The Jewish Names of our LORD. The very many messianic perspectives are so very useful. For me The Complete Jewish Study Bible is a priceless treasure gift from Yeshua to learn and know more about the Jewish Messiah Of Nazareth. We lost David Moreh in 2022. My sincere prayers for Martha Auntie.
I would sincerely recommend to all Bible studying brethren to surely get their TCJSB.

Reviewed in Brazil on October 25, 2020
Pontos negativos:
