We had a super night at this lovely hotel. Welcoming and warm in both atmosphere and service from the staff. They are happy team; genuinely hospitable and pleasant. We were upgraded (nice surprise) to a delightful room with a huge, comfortable bed. We booked the 'Beat the Winter Blues' package which was fantastic value and included a FABULOUS dinner, gin and tonic each and breakfast. We had a great stay ❤️ Loved it!
Thank you so much to the staff at The Feathers for helping us have a wonderful 4 day break. We were made to feel very special, and our two dogs even more so! Whenever we had a drink and bite to eat, they were offered water and treats! Woodstock is a beautiful little town and so close to the stunning Blenheim Palace and grounds. Our room was small but beautifully clean and comfy. The menu is smaller than we expected, but the quality of the food is excellent. The freshly cooked English breakfast was to die for. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to serve fresh orange juice, as that would have been the icing on the cake! We would have liked a slightly bigger range of options for our evening meal, but what we had was very good and we visited a lovely local restaurant…
Arrived at the feathers to a warm reception and given room 33. Nice room small compact bathroom but very nice all the same. Went down for drinks, initially in the lovely courtyard then into the bar. No cocktails but lots of gin options and a fully stocked bar. Very friendly staff, efficient but not in your face. We were offered bar snacks (which in most places are free) quickly realised it was a menu option. We had a small bowl of crisps for £1.50. Went for dinner and partner had burger option. He says it was the BEST burger he’d ever had. I had the veggie option of pea and mint fregola.. it was absolutely ‘delicious’. I loved it! For our pud we had sticky toffee pud and Eaton mess both scrummy and a very pretty mess. Went to bed after a couple drinks and although we could…
I had been gifted a Groupon afternoon tea as a Christmas present, the hotel went above and beyond to book this in and extend the date as I was unable to make a week day. The booking was all done via email and the responses prompt. Upon arrival we had a warm welcome and were shown to the tables to take our pick. The dinning room is well laid out and clean. Our order was taken quickly and we were asked about dietary requirements and/or allergies. The afternoon tea came out promptly. The food was very nice and presented well. I have no complaints about the food, it was lovely! The only issue I have is that none of the staff checked in on us to ensure everything was ok- which it was. However, we finished and I wanted to take our mini cakes with us, as no one came over, I…
We booked a night in the feature suite through country breaks. We got a bottle of prosecco in our room and £45pp towards our evening meal. The room is open plan and large. It has a freestanding bath and bathroom at one end and a bedroom at the other. We were on the first floor in a corner at the end of the corridoor. It is a bit tight on staircases but this is a very old building that has evolved over years, The staff were friendly and helpfull. The parking is not ideal but we managed to get in a 3hr bay. Apparently the trafic wardens have an agreement with the hotel that they will ignore the 3hrs bays and only ticket the 1hr bays. I didn't over stay in the bay so can't vouch for this. If you do book this hotel please bear in mind it is on a corner near the main roads in the…
Pros- Woodstock Village is a really lovely location, picturesque and quaint with lots of nice pubs and eateries and the beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace are at the top of the Village. Wonderful. The Staff at The Feathers we’re Fantastic. From the moment we walked in they were so helpful, happy and obliging it made our stay. The Bar staff and Breakfast staff and Reception staff get a special mention. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant and the bar areas were pleasant places to be. We were advised well by the Hotel Receptionist on where to Park for free in the High Street and it worked brilliantly. Just one Con- Our Room 42 was so disappointing. It was a standard room on a deal. The bathroom was fine and had a nice strong shower in the bath. The bedroom was too…
We spent a night at The Feathers this weekend, 35 years after spending our wedding night there. It felt very familiar with the quirky layout of the hotel and its weaving staircases unchanged. Our room was well appointed and comfortable, with a double aspect. The bathroom had a separate free-standing shower cubicle and bath - perfect. The staff were welcoming and professional. We had one of the huge range of gins on offer in the bar before going to a local restaurant in Woodstock. Breakfast the following morning was beautifully cooked and presented, fortifying is for a long walk in nearby Blenheim Palace gardens and parkland. This is a delightful hotel which I cannot recommend highly enough.
We were looking for somewhere to stay so that we could visit Blenheim. Saw lots of good reviews on The Feathers so we though we'd give it a try. We booked a suite because we wanted a bit more space for a two night stay. The room was very clean and comfortable and we ate in the hotel on both nights. The food was excellent, absolutely delicious! Considering staffing levels were reduced due to all the Covid arrangements, the service was attentive, courteous, friendly and chatty. Without exception, everyone went out of their way to be helpful. It is a short walk to Blenheim and, following advice from the hotel, we left our car in one of the three hour parking bays for the duration of our stay without any problem. It was a great stay, good value and we would certainly book again.…
Room 23 was very dark, very small, very noisy (faced outside road), and very difficult to get to - a very narrow spiral staircase with different height risers. The room should not be let without warning to anyone of pensionable age or with any form of walking difficulties. The food was average, though to be fair, just coming out of COVID restrictions probably didn’t help. The staff were always friendly and helpful and car parking was easily sorted.
Yesterday we visited The Feathers Hotel Woodstock Oxfordshire for afternoon tea. We enjoyed it more than our Harrods experience earlier this year. The pastry melted in your mouth the scones were just out of the oven and delicious and we loved all the sandwiches. We had included a Gin & tonic as a pre tea treat too which was delightfully refreshing. It was a memorable Mother’s Day gift and I’d like to congratulate the chef and staff for giving us a lovely time.
