We planned our trip to Chadds Ford to see the Andrew Wyeth painting at this museum. It's small, but glorious. The setting is beautiful and the paintings on all three floors were wonderful. We actually went 2 days in a row.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Andre Wyeth's studio and house. We learned so much and then went into the museum to see Home Places. This exhibit ends July 13, 2023 and due to the delicate nature of original paintings by NC Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth and Jamie Wyeth won't be displayed for at least 5 more years.

I’m English living in New York. We drove here specifically because I’m an admirer of Andrew Wyeth. The current exhibition includes several pieces not shown before. I visited Maine last year to see his paintings inspired by the landscapes there. His colour palette is sublime and the texture and detail always breathtaking. Yes I gush, but his work will do that to you. Art also on show by his father NC Wyeth and son Jamie Wyeth; a great insight to three generations of extraordinary artists. The architectural design of the gallery, the way it sits in the landscape by the side of the river…is of itself a work of art. Wyeth studio tours at an additional price sell out in advance; book ahead online. One star knocked off for the staff. The rather aggressive person who sold us the tickets…condescending, unfriendly…they pointed at the admissions notice and pretty much barked at us “which are you” we had only just entered the gallery lobby, knew exactly what we were doing and there was no-one else waiting to be served. Some of the staff in the gallery spaces were aloof, despite us acknowledging them and smiling. We’ve visited galleries and attractions in 60 countries and never had this experience. The lady who served me in the gift shop was lovely…perhaps she could be promoted to offer some staff training?! We are very friendly, always interested and the (albeit brief) engagement with the staff we encountered genuinely made us feel unwelcome. Maybe we caught them on an off day…go anyway to see the gorgeous art.

I took the NC Wyeth tour and it was life changing I was so overwhelmed when I walked into the studio. The tour guide Patty I think her name was. She was very knowledgeable about everything we asked her . this is one of the best tours I have ever been on . I highly recommend this for anyone who is an art lover IT was only 10 bucks well worth the money. after you go on the tour you will want to go and look at all of his art in the museum. I just wish there had been more of his work. Can't say I was really impressed with the guest artist on the third floor . I really came to see the wyeth art.

The exhibition space is very well-designed, featuring simple wayfinding and beautiful views of the Brandywine. We were fortunate to see the exhibit on the abstract paintings of Andrew Wyeth. Superbly curated. Were impressed by the wider range of painters than we expected... along with the Wyeths, a nice representation of American painters of the 19th and 20th century. Certainly a museum that should be includes in your itinerary... a visit in the early Fall offered spectacular scenes.

We visited on my last day before going to Philadelphia airport in the evening to return to the UK. It was a revelation as generally I am not so impressed with art galleries. The surroundings of course are lovely but especially so on a beautiful sunny day with clear blue skies and the glowing leaves of Autumn. The building has been beautifully turned into an exceptional place to visit and house some remarkable works by painters I had never heard of and have a yearning to have some even if only as posters in my little flat! The three floors cover an enormous number of artist the majority of which are the Wyeth family but including teachers and pupils giving a really interesting background to the local artistic community of Pennsylvania, and the surroundings. The day we went, there was a exhibit called 'Family and Nature in Contemporary Children's Book Illustration' and thought not only the artists included but the display and use of vibrant wall colours to complement the pictures where just wonderful and testament to the staff who curate and design the displays. While I was sad to leave it has left a lasting impression on me and hope to visit again.

A museum with so much history, creativity and exemplary art. I truly enjoy the Wyeth’s legacy of artwork show through in all levels on the museum. All of the art throughout the museum is fantastic. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. A must visit for anyone with an appreciation of art.
