How do I get a copy of my mom and stepdads will when she died and he won't give it to me. What rights do I have? Can he change i
My mom passed from dementia Alzheimer's in November. My stepdad wouldn't give me a copy of the will . I moved here 9 yes ago to help take care of her and he hated it . He forced me to have her put in a hospice do to him not taking care of her properly. He will not talk to me and I can't get my things out of the house or her things from her previous marriages . He is not in good health. I had to call the ambulance on him as well die to him letting diabetes rot his leg off til I call for help 4 years ago . He has hates me ever since and has lied to me and my sister about my mom. I tried to get help from local agencies and they would help me . I was her go to person when he wasn't helping take care of her in her own home. He would let her fall down and hurt herself . And told me she put Neosporin and a bandaid in her sore on her buttocks and wasn't the issue at all . When I took her to the emergency room they took pics of her wound and it had her privates clogged up to almost skin leukemia. He has hit me numerous times when I was trying to help them both. He needs help and won't get .I sat in the back of the funeral parlor the day of my moms Funeral. I knew she was safe then.
In many states, a Will must be lodged with the Clerk of Court when the testatrix passes. Often there is a time limit, such as within 30 days of death. Once lodged, the Will is a public document. See a local attorney for the requirements in your state.
