Teresa Lynn Ashton

Teresa Lynn Ashton, 54, of South Williamsport passed away in her home surrounded by those she loved, Wednesday, August 10, 2022 after her battle with breast cancer.

Born September 27, 1967 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late John Phillips and Sharon (Lyke) Hershberger.

Teresa was a 1985 graduate of South Williamsport. For many years, she resided in Hilton Head South Carolina where she was an Xray technician. Teresa loved the sand between her toes, ocean breeze upon her face and the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore line. She truly treasured the time spent at the beach, but nothing compared to moments spent with her family.

Teresa was an avid volunteer at the Lycoming County SPCA, where she enjoyed spending time with the animals and dog walking. Her heart was truly devoted to the Animal Rescue work she did and her daily prayers.

For the past 10 years, Dave and Teresa created a life together, cherishing the time they spent, supporting each other consistently, and always sharing a laugh or smile. Two high school sweethearts, who through one of their last acts of love, were wed on July 22, 2022.

Above all else, Teresa treasured moments with her children and grandchildren. They were truly her world.

Surviving in addition to her husband, David S. Ashton, Sr. are three children, Nathan Smith of Las Vegas, Kaela Harris and Colby Munsell both of Hilton Head S.C.; seven beloved grandchildren, Amya, Nia, Keana, Isaiah, Ziki, Raelynn, and Benny; siblings, Kim Pearson (Bernard) of Mechanicsburg, Lisa Wilt, Kelly Ritter and Shelly Brown (Dan) all of Jersey Shore; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Ann Marie and Ron Fullerton and Terry and Jaimee Kopp; and numerous friends who have served as a support system and prayer warriors to Teresa and her family.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the UPMC Homecare and Hospice Team, especially Amy, for the devoted love and care shown to Teresa.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Teresa’s name to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
