Ahsoka – Temuera Morrison Reportedly Cast as Captain Rex in Upcoming Star Wars Disney+ Hotstar Series - Star Wars: Ahsoka

Following the conclusion of Season 3 of The Mandalorian, Star Wars fans are awaiting the upcoming Ahsoka series. Led by Rosario Dawson as the titular character, the show follows Ahsoka following the events of The Mandalorian Season 3, as she's on the hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The show will feature several Star Wars Rebels characters including Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi), Sabine Wren (Natasha Liu Bordizzo), and Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).

A popular Clone character back in Ahsoka, details

Leading up to the release of Ahsoka in August 2023, a new report has suggested the return of a fan favorite character. According to One Take News, Captain Rex will also make an appearance, and he will be played by none other than Temuera Morrison.

The New Zealand actor is most notably known for playing clones like Jango Fett in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He later portrayed the role of Boba Fett in The Mandalorian and his spin-off show, The Book of Boba Fett.

However, in Ahsoka, Morrison plays Captain Rex aka CT-7567, another popular clone. In the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars, Rex fought alongside Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. After surviving Order 66 alongside Tano, he fought in the Battle of Endor.

We never found out about Captain Rex's fate in the war, which is why, it's unclear how he is part of the series. In the end, it remains to be seen if he's alive in the New Republic era or whether Ahsoka remembers him in flashback sequences. Other than that, there is no information on whether Morrison will play other clones in the series.

Ahsoka will debut with an eight-episode run on Disney+ Hotstar in August 2023.
