Isabella, Queen of Armenia - Wikipedia
Isabella I ( 27 January 1216 – Ked, 23 January 1252) was the queen regnant of Armenia (1219–1252). She first married Philip of Antioch. Philip, however, was confined in a prison, where he died, presumably poisoned. Isabella was forced to marry Hethum. The apparent unification in marriage of the two principal dynastic forces of Cilicia ended a century of dynastic and territorial rivalry and brought the Hethumids to the forefront of political dominance in Cilician Armenia.

The Cilician Gates in the Taurus Mountains, located about 1000m above sea level and connecting the Cilician coast with the Central Anatolian Plateau, are one of history's most frequented corridors. In 333 BC, Alexander and his Army of Ten Thousand passed through here on the way to the battle of Issus.
