Tappan Zee is an elite public school with a lot to offer. It is in a great neighborhood, and has a great sense of community. Continually, there are a ton of opportunities for students to succeed, whether that be through the strong advising program or the supportive teachers. Clubs and Sports always have the resources they need and it shows with multiple state championships in the last few years. Finally, there are AP, honors, regular, and support classes for students of all levels.
My best experience began in 10th grade when I felt my future career goal line up. I was able to choose classes which I found interest in and met with teachers who helped me along the way. My relationship with old friends continued to grow stronger while making new friends with common interests. I was on the cheer team and track team which I was proud to be a part of. My worst moments was 11th grade when AP classes meant I would receive credits for college and then also my SATs, while started looking for colleges I would be interested I would be interested in visiting. This was stressful for me and had bouts of anxiety and during the winter I had become depressed finding it hard to enjoy my hobbies and just go on day to day. But I did it by going to the gym more often, deep breathing, and telling myself I will get through this, regardless.
The Guidance Counselors did everything possible to help and prepare us for everything related to college. Every educator was fantastic. We had a very nice community of students and staff. I really enjoyed my time at Tappan Zee High School and will truly miss it. This is definitely the school that I am sending my kids to in the future.
