Plant is a great High school that affords students to take part in a numerous amount of activities and clubs within the school. There are many options for both AP and honors classes to prepare you for college as well.
I’ve had a great experience at Plant! The teachers are great and truly do care about my success. I feel as though I should’ve and could’ve gotten more involved in some clubs and they should’ve been advertised more.
It’s a rlly nice schools wit lot of advance courses the stuff’s like family. The school offers amazing courses that rlly help tours your education. The sports programs are amazing as well.
My experience at Plant High School has been exceptional. Being a hispanic student at a primarily white school, I was taken in by the community and never felt out of place or racially excluded. What most impresses me about plant is the administration and the help that they provide to their students. Guidance counselors have so much on their plate yet they dedicate time to make sure each student is helped. There are also many volunteers and counselors that have walked me through the college process, I am very thankful for this as it is a long and confusing process. Secondly, sports at Plant High School have amazed me. Forming part of varsity football and soccer teams I have reached state semifinals in both sports, women’s basketball and volleyball have won state championships during my 4 years at Plant. When a school has such a great athletic program, school spirit is always vibrant.
Ever since I've been at Plant High School, I have made plenty of friends in different kinds of diversity. I like how the teacher are really understanding towards you and it is easy to understand them when they are teaching a certain subject. I don't enjoy the fact that if you don't take an AP class, you are considered unintelligent or just dumb. I would really like if the teachers would act upon this, and help make the school a better place.
Plant High School has been a wonderful experience through my four years of attending. With the variety of honors and AP classes, and the amazing teachers to help their students get on the right path, it has given me the opportunity to focus on what I want to pursue in the future and the correct way to get there. Plant High School deserves its placement in the ranking of high schools, being one of the highest graduation rates in the district. I am eternally grateful for the wonderful opportunities and chances I have been opened up to, and couldn't owe it enough to the faculty and staff of Plant.
Plant High school has been a great experience overall. I can tell that most of the teachers that I've had genuinely care about me and how I'm doing. There are a couple of athletic programs overlooked that could use some love, and I wish the bathrooms were more available (though I understand why they're not) than they are. I've found a few real friends through Plant High and have forged good connections with many people.
As a Junior in H.B. Plant high school there are a lot of opportunities for high school students. I love the wide variety of AP classes available to take. The teachers here are strict but wish the best for their students and prepare them for the future. This year is my first year here at Plant and it is one of the best schools I've been to by far!
There are many learning opportunities with variety of classes they offer. Teachers I've had were mostly nice and cared for students. I do wish other teachers are nicer to people who are not their students. Few kids were not acting nice to people with different diversity and race.
Lack of effective communication and quality of teaching. School is A rated, however, feel that the educationour child receives is below what it should be for rating. Lots of opportunities for clubs, sports, etc., however, education is lacking.
Plant is a very rigorous school in all aspects including academics, athletics, and clubs. They have such a wide selection of AP courses students are truly given the opportunity to excel and reach their full potential. The student environment is friendly and supportive. At plant you are surrounded by so many ambitious peers, you are truly motivated to work just as hard or even more. By the end of my senior year at plant I will have completed 16 AP classes and 12 dual enrollments, in addition to being part of three sports teams and part of several clubs. There is so much room for growth at this school and in my few years here I have gone from quite and shy, to team captain and the president of a few clubs. I’m so happy to have gone to plant and experience all the opportunities this school provides.
I've had an incredible experience at plant and have met some of the best teachers and role models I've ever known. The one thing I would like to see change me senior year is how poor teachers are handled especially when many students are coming forward about how they aren't receiving a good education due to certain factors. I experienced this issue throughout my junior year in a class that cost me my 4.0 GPA along with a landslide of other kids who felt the teacher was sacrificing our grades to make a point that 'you won't always get straight A's'. A lot of kids were struggling to keep a C in the class and upon coming forward about our issues (many parents and students alike) absolutely nothing was done. I just want kids opinions on their teachers to be taken seriously and if a large amount of kids are coming forward begging for help because they feel their education is at risk, something should be done about it.
I have loved my time at Plant High School. They hold themselves to a high academic standard, which I appreciate. They offer countless AP courses and other chances to enrich my high school career, which I have taken full advantage of. All of the teachers are friendly, intelligent, and truly care for your well being. I've met many people at Plant, all of the students are friendly too, and we all strive to achieve to our best ability. Sometimes, though, being surrounded by such competition can be quite stressful, but I have managed, and have remained at the top of my class for all four years. I'd like to see a greater emphasis on mental health and wellness, because while Plant does do a wonderful job giving us resources to rely on, there is always room to improve.
The best part of my experience at Plant is that there are so many classes and club that cover all sorts of interests, which helps students learn more about what they like, which can help for college as well. Also that plant has so many students, which makes it so easy to make friends everyday. The worst part of my experience is that sometimes with so many students, teachers aren’t able to focus on you as an individual as much as they should.
I've been at Plant for four years now. Compared to other high schools around Florida, it's a great school! I'll start off with some with some things that could improve. The school is not diverse racially and from what I've seen the administration does not prevent bullying well at all. A majority of my LGBTQ friends have been bullied at some point and nothing has been done to protect them. I personally have not run into a situation as bad as them, so it's not like you're guaranteed to be bullied, but that is something I felt obligated to mention. The school itself is good! The campus is a nice size not too big or small. However, the teachers there are great. I've had some teachers who are average, but I've also had teachers who really cared about their craft and connecting with the students. Not every teacher is stellar, but the past four years I've had a handful of teachers who I felt really cared about me and have a passion for what they teach.
Plant high school is everything you would want in any school, the people are easy to get along with, the teachers and counselors are understanding people, as well as anyone in the administration.
As far as what I'd like to see change, I'd have to say that I think their 2nd semester exam exemption for seniors needs a tweak. They count all absences, even if there's a really good reason for it, say for example a broken bone or a bad case of the flu... no matter what they still count it as an absence, and I don't think that's fair.
Other than that though, it's a great school and if anyone lives in the Tampa Bay area, I would 100% recommend it to anyone coming into high school.

The teachers are great, motivated students, over 100+ clubs, well funded so they offer school-specific scholarships. The college resource counselor has been extremely helpful with my college applications. As a minority I have notice some underclassman making micro-aggressions but 95% of the students are really nice. “Nerds” and “Theater” kids are not bullied here :)
