The Legendary Storyteller Overview and Location

Find Tasha in the Tavern at Ancient Spire Outpost (Q-17)

You can start The Legendary Storyteller when you talk to Tasha in the Tavern at the Ancient Spire Outpost (Q-17) in The Ancient Isles region.

Note: This Tall Tale can also be started from your quest table. However, you will still need to go to the Ancient Spire Outpost and speak to Tasha in order to unlock the Tall Tale book with clues.

Search for the Crown Key, Chalice Key, and Briggsy's Chest

The locations of the Crown Key, Chalice Key, and Briggsy's Chest vary per playthrough. The title of the 3 stories in the Tale Book corresponds to the location of each item.

Fish Friends Treasure Location

Dig Spot Location

From Port Merrick (D-10), head southwest to Mermaid's Hideaway (B-13 & C-13) and find the tall rock pillar on the island's north side. Use the cannon from your ship to launch yourself to the top of the tall rock pillar.

You can aim just below the trees on the rock pillar to cushion your landing when you launch from the cannon.

Windy Wings Treasure Location

Dig Spot Location

The Windy Wings tale has you start by heading north from Old Salts Atoll (F-18). Pictured in the clue is a large island with birds. The only island north of Old Salts Atoll that has big bird statues is Plunder Valley (G-16). Make your way there to start looking for the treasure.

Upon landing, head to the west part of the island and find the waterfall with a cliff that resembles a bird. Climb up that cliff and find the statue of another bird nearby. Use your shovel and dig on the spot in front of the bird statue to uncover the quest item.

Monster Island Treasure Location

Dig Spot Location

The Monster Island tale requires you to head to Thieves' Haven (L-20) at The Ancient Isles region. Once you arrive, find the shipwreck in the middle of the island and ascend the ladder on the fallen crow's nest.

Find the waterfall on the area and follow the pathway southwest. Find the three stone heads and dig the spot in front of it.

Use the Crown Key and Chalice Key to Open Briggsy's Chest

After retrieving all three items, use the Crown Key and Chalice Key to unlock Briggsy's Chest. Inside is a Carved Plank that you will use to figure out the next destination.

Use the Carved Plank to Check the Coordinates of the Next Destination

Equip the Carved Plank and flip it over to the back side to find the coordinates craved on the left side. This will lead you to the location of the Ancient Crown that you will have to dig up from the ground.

Note that the coordinates on the Carved Plank vary per playthrough. See the table below for the coordinates and their respective locations.

Use the Carved Plank to Match the Landmark on the Location

Once you have landed on the destination of the coordinates, use the Carved Plank to find the matching landmark on the area.

The small square that does not match any landmarks on the Carved Plank is the location of the dig spot where you can uncover the Ancient Crown.

Discovery Ridge Ancient Crown Location

Ancient Crown Location

Look for the small island that has a shipwreck jutting out at Discovery Ridge. Find the camp and dig the spot behind it to uncover the Ancient Crown.

Return the Ancient Crown to Tasha

Sail back to the Ancient Spire Outpost (Q-17) and talk to Tasha in the Tavern to complete the Tall Tale.

A funny little rumour... Journal Location

The journal is located inside the northwestern sea cave at Lone Cove (H-6) at The Shores of Plenty region. Find the rock platform with mushrooms on it for its exact location.

I know where it is! Journal Location

The journal is located inside a broken barrel by a campfire on the northwestern beach of Mermaid's Hideaway (B-13).

I need to go alone... Journal Location

Head to the bow part of the shipwreck at the Old Salts Atoll (F-18) and find the journal inside a hole near the bow.

I can't go back... Journal Location

The journal is located in a bookshelf inside the Tavern of Dagger Tooth Outpost (M-8).

The journal is located inside the bowsprit cage of the shipwreck wedged between two large rocks in the middle of the Galleon's Grave Outpost (R-8).
