Houseal to heart and put in a supply of tire chains as the Dutch Prophet had stated there would be snow around Christmas time. When it snowed on December 20 � 23 accompanied by sleet he sold $1000 worth on the first day and $250 worth the next day. Johnson, Malcolm 57 years old died January 12, 1935 at his home in the Fairview section with burial at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. He contracted the flu and pneumonia quickly followed. His son Morris was taken to the local Hospital critically ill with pneumonia. He was survived by his widow the former Miss Carrie Oxner, a son Morris and a daughter Ms. Rachel. Johnson, Mary Kibler Mrs. 81-year-old widow of William Johnson who ran a hardware store in Newberry and daughter of D. W. T. He died at the Baptist Hospital in Columbia in November 19, 1935. He had retired to Manning SC to live with his daughter Mrs. P. T. Bradham. Jones of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland, Ms. Frances C. Jones of John Hopkins Hospital Baltimore Maryland and Mrs. P. T. Bradham of Manning SC. Also surviving were brothers Dr. M. Ashby Jones a Baptist minister of Atlanta Georgia and Dr. Carter Helm Jones a Baptist minister of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was at one time pastor of the First Baptist Church of Newberry.
