Let me set the record straight: I don't have an issue with reality, but IMHO, TV shows are waaay more fun when you add a little spice. And, by a little bit of spice, we mean the supernatural. Yep, we're talkin' witches, zombies, vampires (hmu, Edward Cullen), ghosts, werewolves, aliens, and every otherworldly creature in between. I mean, why watch a reality show when you can escape watch something with a paranormal element? The best supernatural shows might even convince you that these otherworldly creatures are indeed real...or not. Either way, you're in for a good time, even if this genre isn't your usual cup of tea.
If you're new to the ~supernatural genre~ then you may not be clear on the difference between supernatural and fantasy. FTR, fantasy TV shows usually take place in another world where fantastical creatures and/or magical abilities are totes normal, while supernatural TV shows are all about supernatural creatures existing within the real world (a.k.a the one you're in right now). And while there have been tonssss of incredible supernatural series over the years (Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Twin Peaks! Wynonna Earp!), I want to bring your attention to the best supernatural series on TV right now, 'cause otherwise we'll be here all day. (Plus, it's nice looking forward to new seasons, no?)
So my fellow ghost hunters and terror seekers, here are the best supernatural TV shows you can watch in 2023 (as well as a few classics you can still rewatch), including everything from dramas to dark comedies to literal horror shows.
Supernatural
Well, you clicked on an article about supernatural shows, so it only makes sense to start with a show that hits the nail right on the head. Follow brothers Sam and Dean through 15 (!!) seasons as they hunt monsters and face an increasingly sinister landscape after losing their mother to a supernatural force.
Wednesday
Jenna Ortega stans, please stand up! Based on the classic Tim Burton character, a smart and sarcastic Wednesday Addams investigates a murder spree (and delivers an iconic dance scene) while making new friends and foes at Nevermore Academy. With the news that there'll be a season 2, you better catch up on all the action before it's too late.

Mayfair Witches
White Lotus' Alexandra Daddario stars as an intuitive young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the heir to a family of witches (big slay tbh). As she grapples with her newfound powers, she must contend with a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.
What We Do in the Shadows
This darkly funny comedy revolves around four vampire roommates living on Staten Island, and if you haven't watched it yet, then you'll wanna get up to speed, because we've already made it to season 5.
Stranger Things
Since the final season of Stranger Things isn't dropping until 2024, fans have plenty of time to catch up on this sci-fi dramedy, which tells the story of young teens experiencing freaky phenomena in 1980s Indiana.
The Haunting of...
First came The Haunting of Hill House, following by The Haunting on Bly Manor, and though Netflix hasn't announced a new installment in the supernatural anthology series yet, fans have a feeling that a third season isn't far off...hopefully.

SurrealEstate
