These are unquestionably the best piece of soccer gear I've ever purchased. I have a pair of my own (an earlier version), and these were purchased for my girlfriend. I've been swearing by these since the day I got them, but couldn't convince the girlfriend to drop eighty bucks on shin guards, so I ended up buying them for her right before she left on a plane to play a tournament in Louisiana.
After her first game on the field, she was completely sold, "I can't believe I didn't buy these before...they NEVER MOVE. I don't think about them, I don't even notice they're there. These are amazing."
I have some minor quibbles about the previous version (the one that I own) in that the mesh material they used to make the sleeve doesn't have nearly enough stretch for my big 'ol calves. It's a struggle getting them on and off, and I feel like they add a bit too much compression on my lower leg, but they eliminated the small patches of mesh in the new version and they are certainly better for it.
They're light-weight, comfortable, protective enough, and they essentially 'disappear' when you're on the field. I'm very happy.
