Our family ate at Stoned Crab the end of January. The service was just OK in spite of the fact that the restaurant was less than a third full. The cocktails were good but a little too slow in coming and they were out of...the less expensive wine so my husband ordered a glass that was $2 more per glass. Our entrees were all over the place. My shrimp was quite good, my son's just so-so and my husband was given a meal he did not order. He did eventually get the right entree but well after we had finished ours. This may have been an off night but we did expect more from this Key West fixture.More

Made a last minute decision to go to Key West. Several folks gave us recommendations that The Stoned Crab was a must so we had high expectations. We made reservations in advance since we were a party of 8. They seemed to scramble to find...us a table. The atmosphere was fun but the food was just ok, especially given the prices. We had a variety of seafood dishes and everyone had the same response. The wait staff was very attentive but again not sure it was worth the amount of money we spent.More

Came here based upon other reviews. First the service was poor at best... While the seafood was fresh the ability to get a correct order was problematic. It took 15 minutes to get drinks and even longer for a menu. My wife got Shrimp scampi...which was devoid of shrimp.. 5 small overcooked shrimp. I had the seafood steamer, but never got the potatoes or corn.... All in all, not the best....More

We ate here on our first night in Key West. We ordered the shrimp & grits and coconut shrimp for $48. It was delicious! The atmosphere was great too! Highly recommend!

We decided to eat here for our last night in Key West We had made reservations requesting water seating. When we arrived, we were promptly sat along side the water front, exactly what we asked for. From there, everything definitely fell apart. We were given...menus when we were sat and then for the next 35 minutes we had no service at all People got sat right behind us about 15 minutes after we were sat. They were served drinks by their waiter AND their waiter never even blinked an eye at us, just moved on. I went and found a server and asked for them to get the manager for us. He showed up about 5 minutes latter, looking a bit apprehensive to talk to us. I asked the manager how long would it be appropriate for us to be served. He said within 5 minutes or less. After explaining to him the35 minute wait, he was very apologetic and offered free drink with our meal. After that, we had mediocre service. Location Location is very easy to access Ambiance Sitting on the water front is great. Across the water is the Main Street entering Key west, but it was hardly noticeable. The lighting was very nice and the water was lite as well Service Virtually non existent Food We had the big mixture pot that has a lot of everything in it. It was definitely tasty and definitely filling. We were offered one free desert from the waitress, which was appreciated too. Bathroom Bathroom was worn out. It has lots of use and it was very much noticeable. Overall rating 1 to 5 (5 being the highest) 4 Location 4 Ambiance 1 servie 3 food 4 portion 1 bathroomMore

Food was okay, but I really hate when I order a meal with shrimp in it and it comes with the tails on so now I have to take off the tails (which did not come off easily), and my meal wasn't hot when it...arrived so by the time I took off all of the tails my meal was merely warm. My husbands fish was a whole fish with head and not deboned they should tell you that. Prices were exorbitant. $85.00 for 2 dinners and one bottle of beer, no salad, no bread and I drank water. We enjoyed a much better meal in town and I had two double Bloody Mary's and we both had large baked seafood platters with bread for the same price. We ate indoors and the flies were everywhere! It qualifies as fine dining only because of the price not because of the food or the atmosphere!More

Worst dining experience in a long time. Clearly ask your server the prices per pound for snow crab and lobster. They make you think it’s included as a choice for your chillers and steamers. We got screwed by deceptive pricing. This was NO PLACE to spend...200 dollars on a dinner for 2. All it was 1 appetizer shared, 1 sad entree, 2 glasses of wine and 1 steamer done incorrectly. Plus they offered no compensation for screwing up the order and making someone wait even longer- when they don’t get your order right to begin with. I see where people have mentioned gratuity was included- I didn’t even notice that I was so mad. Service was extremely slow and miserable. I will never go back. Plus they sat us on the side of the pier by smelly ocean water.More

This place takes advantage of the one-time tourist business. Beware! Do not eat at this restaurant! The stone crab was old. Grilled fish was tasteless like cardboard and fries were greasy. The waitress started upselling as soon as we sat down. When we complained about...the food, nobody cared. Four medium size crab claws were $69, dried out tasteless fish and chips $19. They brought uncooked food to the table next to us which was sent back and we heard the waiter apologize. The bathrooms were disgusting. I wonder what does the kitchen looks like. The health department should be notified.More

Stopped in for a quick lunch, 1 pound of jumbo claws 1/2 of a baked lobster and two glasses of wine. Stupid me not to ask the price before I ordered. Stone crab claws were $98.50/lb (3 claws), or about twice the cost of the...grocery store. A $38 lobster was disappointingly small, and could be purchased in Publix for about $3.00. (It’s only half a lobster). The red one was OK, although pricey at $13 a glass. Having lived in Key West for over 30 years, an eaten my fair share of seafood, I would’ve given them three stars for the food quality, but I deducted a star for not respecting the customer enough to tell him about the high cost when they order. Be careful, and ask lots of questions before orderingMore

The meal was so-so the waitress Cory was great what was surprising was the Bill amount. We had gone to the Stoned Crab because it was one of the few restaurants that advertised Seafood Paella the price on their website advertised it at $48:00 for...two people. As we knew what we wanted when we ordered we didn't look at the menu so didn't note the price. When we got the bill the price had risen to $64:00 a 33% increase. Although our wiatress was great the meal wasn't worth $64:00. Just a case of buyer beware. Be warned.More

The location is great that is about it!!! I ordered the 1/2 baked lobster, came with cold fries and an old corn on the cob with no flavor. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits that came with a corn bread. Don’t go! I think...pictures says it all! When we asked for our waitress she got the manager who told us it was an jalapeño and apples, hummm... NO! Definitely not! Waitress never came to sal how things were and for over $100 bill it was so bad, not worth the cost!More

We waited forever Wich was fine we can wait but the food for the price was sucky the noodles where dry and Luke warm. The lobster was chewy. We did like the crab bisque but the chilled shrimp where not very cold. So all in...all for a 70.00 bill only the soup was enjoyable.More

As we passed by it the outside and big signs lured us in, but this was the worst mistake. Awful service, expensive for the quality they serve. Half of our food never arrived to the table and some of what arrived was wrong. We had...to eat with water as the beverages never made it to the table. We ordered 2 kids dinner and 6 appetizers, we where a big office group and the appetizers came before the kids dinner. Most of the prizes in the menu say MP (market place) and some of us got charged different for the same dishes. Server don't wear masks, they use a plastic shield on their neck and half of the time is sideways.More

We stopped here on the way back from looking at a hotel for an event we are having, and it was the biggest mistake of the day. First the soda was flat, my server tried to tell me it might be different because its Pepsi...products in a bag (I am well aware of what a bib is, and that it has nothing to do with the carbonation lol). She tried again, and then tried to bring me a can of the wrong soda, I told her it was fine and not to worry about it. Our food took awhile to come out of the kitchen to the point where our server apologized. This was weird because there were only 4 other tables in the restaurant, one couple already had her food, one was eating from a take out container, and the other had yet to order... The conch fritters were admittedly delicious, but when we got our meals, my fiances was wrong. He had ordered the fish sandwich but she delivered a fish platter. He isn't the type to make a big fuss so he said he was OK, only for us to realize later that its 12 dollars more... he did say the fish was good though. My burger was way overcooked however. I'm not sure if this was just an off morning for the server and restaurant, or what was happening here, but neither of us would recommend it. It is way overpriced for the quality of the food and the level of service you will receive. There are much better, and more unique places that you can't visit in key west.More

Giving a 1, because I have to give something. What an awful last night in Key West experience. Line to check in was at least 20 people long. Once we sat down it took a long time to get a waitress to our table. We...asked do clarification on some menu items and she had provided good guidance. We ordered $100+ worth of seafood, plus drinks and kids meals. After the drinks came out we sat for about 30 minutes without a bite to eat. Finally my sons kids meal came and we all ended up eating fries out of his basket because it was becoming obvious food was nowhere in sight. After observing several tables get their empty plates and claw crackers we got leery of when to expect our food. We noticed no one around us had gotten any food in a long time. A table next to us was complaining about the food they did get. They had a manager come over and she was extremely rude to them about the complaint. With that, we sought out our waitress and cut our ties asked her to bring a bill for what we already had (glass of wine, beer and 1 kids meal) which came to $25. We left that and the tip for what we did have, and got out of dodge without having to pay a hefty bill for food that would come out way past the time when we’d enjoy it (but we don’t think anyone was enjoying the quality of food this particular evening). We ended up coming back to our hotel for dinner way past bed time for all. A real bummer. I’d recommend never even think about eating here.More
