Working with Coppola's vision of the film as a tragic love story, Kilar conjured up a heartbreakingly beautiful, yet violent, tone poem that exquisitely encapsulates the darkness and passion of Stoker's classic narrative. However, love never dies, and neither does great music.

After studying Eastern Europe, I came with fresh ears to Wojciech Kilar's musical score and now enjoy it immensely. For a while I was prejudiced against it for the illogical reason that John Williams 1979 music to Dracula is my favorite of his scores, and I own dozens. A great comment by director Stephen Spielberg was John Williams teaching him about little known Russian Classical composers and German wines, and him teaching Williams about fast food and pacing halls. Polish composer Kilar and other Eastern Europeans seem to do horror quite nicely, standout being Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and opera Boris Guodanov, the Russian Macbeth. And the movie it comes from is terrific. Honestly, some commentators go out of their way to distance great music from any movie containing the word "Dracula" as if for fear of "contamination"

Love the movie and one of the reasons is the music. Moody and atmospheric. 'Eternal Love' is probably what could be considered the Love Theme and it is gorgeous. The only negative is the inclusion of the Annie Lennox pop song at the end of the album. I just skip it. Aside from that single glaring misstep, a lovely soundtrack to a stunning film.

I loved the movie for which this score was written and can honestly say that this music is superb- especially "Love Remembered."
I keep this CD in my player in my car and it provides me relief from surrounding sounds of rap and country music emanating from other cars nearby. This orchestral recording is wonderful!!!

Los timbres y la espacialidad es mucho más musical que la versión digital en CD y se disfruta bastante más. Si ya me gustaba la banda sonora, la cual compré en su momento hace casi 30 años en CD, me congratulo de la nueva reedición en vinilo de hace unos meses, con una portada con las letras de Dracula en relieve de color sangre. La recomiendo a los amantes de las bandas sonoras que puedan escucharlas en este formato vinilo.

Le CD de cette B.O a été l'une des plus grandes ventes des années 90 en terme des musiques de films. Les amateurs de vinyles veulent avoir cette bande son dans leur format préféré et facilement car lors de la sortie du disque compact en 1992, un pressage 33 tours avait été disponible pour le marché espagnol et coréen mais en très petit nombre d'exemplaires car à l'époque le vinyle était en total désintérêt. Aujourd'hui ces pressages d'époque sont très difficiles à trouver (surtout en excellent état) et très chers. Cette réédition en galette noire fera donc le bonheur de ceux qui attendait ce "Dracula".
