I only know of one cheat code at the moment, which is 'god mode' in the more literal sense: you units become immune to damage (enemies still target them), but also have their damage multiplied by 10. So SCVs do 50 damage, marines do 60 and Thor does 450...

Press enter and type terribleterribledamage without quotes or anything.

If you use cheats, achievements are disabled and reloading from a save may not necessarily re-enable them for you (it should, though).

Can't you just start a new campaign...?

You can, but if you started a new campaign, it'd be from scratch. I was trying to replay the level, but I was being lazy and wanted to do it quickly (it was almost midnight) so tried to use the god mode cheat, but it didn't work.

First, that sounds boring. Second, how can you lose achievements?

If you cheat you don't get achievements.

Red classic.

I already know that. But he said the word "lose". How can you lose achievements if they are permanent?

If you play a campaign map and use a cheat you lose any achievements that you would have gotten. That's how you 'lose' achievements.

That's not losing achievements. The appropriate word is 'disabled'. With cheats on, earning achievements would be disabled. If you "lose" achievements, that means you have lost achievement points, and you would have to earn it again to retain it.

Seems like you think too highly of your word choice, maybe next time you should do some research. Plus correcting this kind of stuff online when you clearly can understand what someone is portraying is quite asinine.

Definition of LOSE

# fail to keep or to maintain; cease to have, either physically or in an abstract sense; "She lost her purse when she left it unattended on her seat"
# fail to win; "We lost the battle but we won the war"
# suffer the loss of a person through death or removal; "She lost her husband in the war"; "The couple that wanted to adopt the child lost her when the biological parents claimed her"
# misplace: place (something) where one cannot find it again; "I misplaced my eyeglasses"
# miss from one's possessions; lose sight of; "I've lost my glasses again!"
# allow to go out of sight; "The detective lost the man he was shadowing after he had to stop at a red light"
# fail to make money in a business; make a loss or fail to profit; "I lost thousands of dollars on that bad investment!"; "The company turned a loss after the first year"
# fail to get or obtain; "I lost the opportunity to spend a year abroad"
# fall back: retreat
# miss: fail to perceive or to catch with the senses or the mind; "I missed that remark"; "She missed his point"; "We lost part of what he said"
# suffer: be set at a disadvantage; "This author really suffers in translation"

I love how serious you are... and you actually took your time on the definition. :bleh:

Like I said, the word disabled sounds far more appropriate and more understandable. Speaking of which, I already know that if cheats are on, you cannot receive the achievements the game awards you of. Just to push the idea, the idea of cheating usually disables the rewards in games long before "achievements" came to existence. It's common sense. :-_-:

Aug 11 2010, 11:01 pm Lanthanide Post #16

Krayzee is correct, in this context "lose" is ambiguous. It could easily mean that you lose the achievements you had already accomplished. Saying "achievements are disabled" is much clearer. Yes 'lose' *can* be used in this context, but it is *not* clear and so should be avoided.

Having said that, this entire line of discussion is completely irrelevant and off topic. Your original post about "cheat engine" could've been on topic, but since you didn't provide any links or further information, it was really pretty useless.
