Unofficial community for Star Wars, an American epic space opera franchise, created by George Lucas and centered around a film series that began with the eponymous 1977 movie.
Episode 1 had a special edition release that was wide screen on vhs. Easy to tell even without the large box, it had the words “widescreen” written on top of the cardboard slipcover and I believe also on the actual cassette.
Any super nerds out there able to point me into the right direction on whether episode 2 has a widescreen version and how to tell the difference? I’ve seen the usual THX release cardboard case and another one in a plastic clamshell, both say it’s modified to fit your screen on the back (but in different places) and of course every eBay listing says “widescreen” probably because sellers have no idea what that means.
