St. Florian's Gate dates from the 14th century and is well-preserved and maintained. What captured my attention, however, was the incredible local painter who displays her paintings here. They're absolutely phenomenal.
If this is your fist time in Krakow you should approach the main square through this gate - it is magnificent.
St Florian's Gate and nearby The Barbican are the only remains from the city's fortification many centuries ago. These fortifications have now been replaced by gardens encircling the old town.
Built in the 13th century, St Florian's gate is the only surviving city gate that was part of the wall built around Krakow for protection after the tartar attack in 1242. It was the main entry gate into the city and is a focal point of Krakow old town.
This isn't really an attraction. A piece of history yes. It's cool to see and is pretty hard to miss when visiting.
