The road on the right upper side of the main square takes you up the florianska,
Here you get lots of food, drink shops and kantors (travel exchange). Please take time to go down the alley ways as there are some deals to be had.
We found a great local pannini shop and another cheap beer/wine shop.
Also, there are music players at this tower - we saw a local duo and a single guitarist.

Good to walk past and have a quick look, but will only take 5 minutes of your time as there isn't much to see. Worth seeing though!

Came across the gate at the end of a busy shopping street up from the main square then walked around the old city walls through the parks surrounding the city. Very pleasant walk indeed

St Florian's Gate is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best examples of a Gothic Tower you will find in Poland.
It's the focal point of Ul Florianska which is one of the most touristic streets in Krakow.
Constructed in the 14th century as a rectangular defensive Gothic tower and part of the fortifications against the threat of Turkish attack.
The original tower on this spot was destroyed in 1241 when the Tarta's attacked Krakow with the present tower being part of the many towers that made up the defenses reconstructed in the 14th century.
The gate tower is 33 metres high and is the beginning of the famous Royal Way.
The tower looks magnificent and is one of the most photographed structures in the Old Town ,by the tower you will find innumerable artists showcasing their paintings and artwork which is especially popular with tourists.
This is a breathtaking gateway to the Old Town with it's amazing amount of pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination.
A beautiful tower and gate house and well worth checking out.

A really impressive gate way. Lovely brick work and a fantastic photo spot. Surrounded by art displays and shops and restaurants really worth a visit. Plenty of history behind this gate and in a quiet part of the town.
