SCHOOL FOOD

School food and meal-times

We pride ourselves on producing delicious, nutritious meals using fresh, sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. Staff join pupils for lunch and there is a focus on healthy eating, as well as good table-manners. We have two spacious dining rooms, in which Reception – Year 8 eat over a staggered timeframe; our Nursery children have their own, separate lunch area. St Andrew’s is a nut and sesame free school and we can cater for all other food allergies and intolerances.

Food Committee

Popular lunch dishes include meatballs, ‘Fishy Friday’ and sausage casserole, and there is always a salad bar and vegetarian options. Our milk comes from Red Tractor accredited farms and all our eggs are free range. Fruit is always available with the option of mid-morning and afternoon snacks.  Not forgetting our match teas and cakes, as well as our popular Breakfast and Supper Clubs. Find out more about our wraparound care options here.

Our Pupil Food Committee meets regularly to discuss feedback. There is also a book in the Senior Dining Room that children are encouraged to add their comments about the meals, whether it’s good or bad.
