Spend your sunset money here Cutting edge food, impeccable service and a sunset worth calling ahead and reserving a porch seat with a sunset view. This all adds up to a foodie experience to tell your friends about. You will pay top dollar for the...experience but it is worth it. Share the small plates and listen to the band rock out on Santana. This place is hard to beat.More

Although it was dark when we ate at 8pm it was nice to be seated outside near the water and we enjoyed both attentive service and very good food, as well as a wine list that we felt was value for money. Our starters of...shrimps, and burrata were spot on and mains of rack of lamb and lobster faultless. We’d recommend.More

We booked this location for our first night, expecting a great sunset experience and we were not disappointed. i can't remember how many pix i took of various stages of sunset. The restaurant sits over Mallory Square and pier so you can view and hear...the happy hour buzz and scene. Music can be heard from several places nearby. The seafood was very fresh, and we enjoyed our appetizers as well as main course. The rice was well cooked and flavorful and drinks were generous. Can't wait to return.More

Invited by our friends from Italy to celebrate a birthday. One of our waiter's recommendations was the $40 paella which the five of us ordered. It lacked any seasoning and was completely tasteless. Furthermore it was watery and had the consistency of risotto. We asked...for bread twice from two different waiters (our original waiter was missing) and were told each time that bread was not available. They each said that the only bread offered was a toasted garlic chibatta that could be ordered as an appetizer. Our original waiter finally returned to see if the meal was satisfactory. When we said no, he returned with the toasted chibatta. We quickly concluded our dinner by declining any dessert and asking for the check. I guess that our waiter felt guilty because he brought two slices of key lime pie to the table. It was a nice gesture but not enough to make up for the bland food and undeserved service.More

A Very Good Meal. This is a chic, fairly expensive (40$ main course) restaurant where kids might be a little incomfortable. It gas muted chabeliers and candelabras with dark wood trim woodwork. The greeting was immediate and responsive. We were seated inside with a view...of the keys through the windows. This is not an issue at night since there is very little to see st night. That would br very different at lunch where u would have to sit outside. The service was prompt and efficient. The ceasar salad was missing some dressing but it was fresh and tasty. The seafood risotto was perfectly done. The two scallops and shrimp were cooked to perfection. The rice and vegetable were very tasty together. The key lime pie was incredible: it was served on a plate decorated with a cute chocolate palm tree. A very nice touch. I would have rated this restaurant a 4.5 if i could because the music played inside is much too rythmic and intense and parking is expensive around it. There is a municipal lot behind the restaurant. Do not press max parking time unless you want to be charged $40.More

Hands down one of the best brunch experiences I have ever had! The small plates-style was top notch. We started with the bottomless make your own- Bloody Marys (or mimosas, your choice.) next came the bacon cinnamon rolls and chilled seafood display with raw oysters,...mussels, mahi ceviche and peel and eat shrimp. I think we sampled about everything on the menu with our party of 6. We sat outside and it was a bit chilly, so our waiter brought out a huge heater which kept it very comfortable. I will be back. Make reservations and see sure you have about 2 hours to really enjoy brunch on Sunday. Cheers!More

Great view. Great food. Horrible horrible management. I called and reserved a spot for 5 . We showed up and they told me it was for the next week. I was going to be out of town the next weekend so I know for a...fact I would not reserve that weekend. They chose not to make it work. The restaurant sat empty the entire time we were there and as we were leaving I asked the manager that night why seats were empty and he told me the party that was supposed to show up was running late. SMH . So the person who makes a reservation and you mess up pays but the people who make a reservations and are over an hour late are ok? Sad thing is I’m local and you lose business this way. I had to sit in the loud bar with my friend who is 82 and doesn’t enjoy the loud noise. To management when you show me what your computer says for my reservation doesn’t mean that’s what I requested. I would never ever request a date when I’m not home. Plus it was my Birthday so I know what date I reserved. Shame on you! I guess being right makes you happier !More

The waitstaff at Hot Tin Roof was great. Our waiter as well as other staff members were polite and attentive. Our food was fine. It was generally very rich but without much flavor. We ordered the burrata salad (the best thing we ate at HTR...by far), the beef salad, grouper small plate, and surf n' turf. The burrata salad was excellent - great flavors that complemented the creamy burrata perfectly. The beet salad was fine - I've had similar elsewhere. The grouper small plate was also on par with other KW meals, although I have learned that I don't care for coconut rice. The filet was excellent if maybe a little underdone. I ordered it medium rather than my normal medium rare and it came out a perfect medium rare. The lobster was chewy and not very flavorful. In my opinion and based on my one experience Hot Tin Roof is really pricey for what you get. Next time I'm in Key West I'll try somewhere else.More

We are repeat guests of the Ocean Key resort and have dined at Hot Tin Roof several times in the dining area and by room service. Due to covid19 our original Key West destination wedding in March with friends and family was canceled and my...husband and I opted to elope (sans friends and family). Our wedding coordinator booked our reservation at HTR for 9pm on our wedding night. After the ceremony we got caught in the rain and were running 10-15 min behind schedule. We were running up to our room to change clothes for dinner and asked the front desk to let the HTR hostess know we would be maybe 15 min late for our reservation. Minutes later we received a call to our room saying the restaurant was closing the kitchen at 9pm. She said she begged them to wait until we got downstairs but they said all they could do is get our food started if we could order over the phone. Unthinkable, this isn't just a regular Friday night dinner, it is the most special occasion. I asked if they knew it was our wedding night, thinking that of course at a 4-star resort with what we've known to be impeccable service would obviously say yes and accommodate a bride and groom. Yes, they knew it was our wedding night and the answer was still no they could not accommodate us. This was completely unacceptable. Hotel management called immediately apologizing on behalf of the restaurant saying they would offer us a credit to pay for our dinner elsewhere and when we returned to the room they had champagne and key lime pie waiting. Although the hotel tried so desperately to recover from this complete fail by hot tin roof it's really unforgivable and caused a lot of stress having to search for a 2nd restaurant last minute. It was our wedding night and was planned to be fun and stress free. Big disappointment in customer service by HTR. Having worked in food service I couldn't fathom turning away a bride and groom, I would've done everything possible to make the dining experience as special as I could. If the kitchen cut off needs to be so strict due to budget circumstances or whatever the case may be, I would think HTR should change their final reservation time to 8:45pm to avoid a similar situation going forward. To whoever made the judgement call to turn away a bride and groom really needs to reflect on why you do what you do... do you love to enhance a guest's experience in KW by providing great customer service and a fantastic meal sending them home to brag to their friends about how awesome HTR is... or is it just for the paycheck and you couldn't care less about the guest’s actual experience because we are just there for the week? Kind of seems like the latter in this case. Extremely disappointing. Someone really dropped the ball on this one.More

What a beautiful way to celebrate a birthday! We had outside seating, facing the water in a perfect location to see the sunset! I have never tasted lobster so delicious in all my years, it truly melted in my mouth! The staff were friendly and...shared in the fun of celebrating my birthday by presenting a piece of delicious key lime pie on a plate with an image of a palm tree made out of cinnamon. Our waiter was very attentive and made our evening so pleasant. He lit the candles and joined in singing Happy Birthday. It was a birthday I will always remember!More

The view is beautiful, but the service is poor. The person serving the water was resting the water bottle on the rim of every customer’s glass. I asked for bottled water instead of this shared water experience (especially in the post-COVID world) and was told...they couldn’t get me any bottled water. Also, I informed the waitress my daughter has a wheat allergy when I ordered her food, but they brought her salad out with a piece of bread resting on top. I told the waitress about this, and she said, “Ma’am there’s nothing I can do about it.” Needless to say that was very scary considering my daughter could end up having anaphylaxis if she gets exposed to wheat. The waitress’s nonchalance about it was horrifying. Finally, the food was very pricey and not very good. I assume you are paying for the view and that’s all. I ordered the lobster tail. It was very tough and loaded with so much pepper I started coughing after one bite. I would not go back unless it was just to have drinks and enjoy the view.More

We went here to celebrate Valentine's Day. They had a special prix fixe menu. The service was good and so was the food. We asked about an allergy to crab problem one of us had and they promised to leave the crab topping the filet...mignon off, but then it was on. Luckily one of us saw it and stopped our friend just before she ate it. Otherwise everything was quite good and we had a spectacular sunset as well. Great Key Lime pie. We'll come back.More

Ate outside on an August evening. Heard lovely live music from sunset pier. Fabulous service. Bill around $100 for martini, wedge salad, shared small plates one of grouper and the other key west pink shrimp which were both outstanding. We each had a dessert, key...lime pie, hubby says best on the island, and bread pudding which was one of the best I’ve had. Loved this meal so much we tried to get in again for dinner another night but no reservations available so we headed back for dessert after eating elsewhere one night and they happily took us at 9 for dessert! Make your reservation early and don’t miss out.More

Booked a reservation for 7 pm on a Saturday since it was so highly recommended. They sat us at around 715, took roughly 15 min to get our order in, and we go our check a little before 8. Everything came out one ontop of...the other. We ordered three of the small plates plus appetizers. The food was general good, one dish was a miss but thats not so bad. Drinks were super sweat. Overall, between the lack luster ambiance and the sonic fast service you can definitely skip this place with some many other great places in the Keys.More

I would rate the food as excellent, the waiter as excellent but the host and reservation process as poor. The food was incredible! My husband made the reservation in advance before we arrived in Key West and surprised me with the sunset dinner experience. When...he made the reservation, he spoke with a gentleman and requested the sunset dinner outside on the balcony. The gentleman said he would note it and if it was available we could sit outside. Once we arrived, we were seated inside and before we could ask the gentleman who sat us, he hurried away. My husband mentioned it to our waiter Patrik (who was fantastic!) and the gentleman returned and informed us we didn’t reserve to sit outside. It was upsetting because he was very brash and there were several tables available on the balcony with no one waiting. He said he would see what he could do and left our table. When he returned he grabbed our drinks and said “just leave your menus and let’s go outside. You can sit at a table.” We thanked him profusely and apologized for any inconvenience, and we were met with a cold, uncomfortable silence. Again, the food was incredible and Patrik was amazing and very professional! The sunset dinner experience was perfect to celebrate our anniversary. We were disappointed with the seating host and lack of empathy on his part. Would recommend this restaurant for the food and sunset experience.More

We sat in the dining room by the window which faces the west. That will give you a great view. But honestly the hotel whether you’re in the dining room or by the outdoor bar will give you a great view of the sunset.
