What a great location, right on the beach, near the Southernmost Point. We sat at the beach bar, looking out at the ocean, and had the good fortune to spend the afternoon with our bartender Sharla. The bar was busy, but she made it look...easy, providing excellent service and time to give island information. We had a delicious Key Lime Colada, and Sharla recommended the fresh catch which was Mahi Mahi and for us to try it blackened with carribean seasing. The cocktails, the great food and the friendltservice made it a perfect aftrenoon in Key West. We will see you again soon Sharla. Thank you.More

The 2 people in our party who got the swordfish were very pleased with their meal. The 2 of us who tried pork were not pleased at all. Pork was very dry. Salads are over priced and large so consider splitting one. Nice ambience and...beach view.More

The location of this restaurant is great, you can order and walk out on the small jetty for he sunset while waiting for your food. The food is ok, not worth the prices in my opinion. I got their signature scallop dish and was underwhelmed....My husband loves the fact that a lobster tail add on way only $12 for 9oz though. The staff was friendly and they respected our social distancing request to move the neighboring table a little further away.the restaurant is also open air as it’s on one of he small beaches in Key West.More

We were guests at the southernmost hotel and went to order a drink at the bar the lady serving us was rude and then I asked for a food menu which she threw at me . Then went to get a second drink we were...ignored then finally served again badly and the quality of the drink was rubbish for the high price. Real shame as a great location but we did not want to spend another day by the beach after service like that. It put us off the whole place real shame as we had fantastic service when we stayed in Miami south beach at the kimpton hotel. Would not recommend anyone stay thereMore

We have come to this place for years in fact I wrote a review years ago describing this place as a "Hidden Gem". Unfortunately like everything else in KW they've out priced me. I use to take my fresh caught fish here all the time,...was absolutely incredible and while expensive it was excellent. Since ownership changes a year or two ago this place jacked up its price for the hook and cook and the slimmed down on the sides. While still a great spot for a drink and great view we won't be taking our fresh caught fish here for dinner anytime soon.More

I was most disappointed with the new menus at The Southerost Beach Cafe. The previous menus were casual and for many years delightfully predictable! That was comfortable and visitors as well as tourists enjoyed countless meals at the beautiful beach side venue. However, as a...local l will not be returning as the present menu offerings are not at all enticing to me. I visited last week for dinner and I couldn’t find anything on the menu that looked appealing to me. The waitress was very kind and finally we decided on something. However, even our much deliberated decision could not compare to the numerous meals I have enjoyed there for the past 25 years! Attention management please think seriously about changing your menu you’ll probably get locals back that way. Unless of course you don’t want to locals to return.More

We ate here for dinner. The ambience was great - right on the beach. The waitstaff was not helpful at all and could basically tell us nothing about the menu. The food was pretty good though. There was a table next to us with a...little girl that was coughing the entire time. Even though this was an outdoor restaurant, it was unnerving in Covid times. We asked to be moved and the waitress did nothing - even though there were many open tables. Not sure if we would return.More

The view of the beach wasn't too bad from the restaurant. The food was good however our order for an appetizer was never put in, the waitress would walk away from the table before I could ask for another refill and out of our table...of 6, 5 peoples food came out and the person without their food had to ask for it, she said it's coming right out. Most of the table was atleast halfway through their food before his came out so I guess she forgot to put that order in as well.More

Key West has so many wonderful restaurants available that I can’t believe one can be this bad. There were two hostesses and neither of them bothered to look up and acknowledged us when we walked up to them. One walked us to a table, put...the menus down and walked away with an attitude that seemed to express that she really hates her job and it was how she sat everyone. There was bird poop on the table and a stench in the air either from all the seaweed on the beach and/or the garbage smell from the side of the building. We should have left at that point, but all the other restaurants we walked past had a line. We split an omelet which is usually hard to screw up, but it was less then subpar. As we left, the hostess who sat us was leaning on the hostess desk playing on her phone. I can understand why she doesn’t like her job, but her attitude only adds to to overall horrible experience.More

To start, I ordered a daiquiri and unbeknownst to me the rum was poured right on top and not mixed in. I took a sip off the top and just about gagged cause it was straight rum. Our group ordered several appetizers which I felt...were very tiny. Some in our group loved their meal while a couple felt the dinners were so so. Given all the choices in KW I’m not sure I would ever return here.More

While it has certainly been a minute since we last visited Key West (about 10 years), we had such a great dining experience at the Southernmost Beach Cafe, we decided to make a return visit. It was definitely not the same place; the menu was...totally different with not a lot of variety. If you did not get a fish dinner, then your only other options were apps or salads. We ended up with the octopus, avocado stuffed with tuna, conch fritters, and conch stew. Everything was salted with a very heavy hand and too spicy. Our waiter seemed very rushed like he wanted us to order, eat, and leave as soon as possible. He was waiting on the table next to us and was in such a rush he spilled all of their drinks on them. While the view was great, there were pidgeons everywhere and the staff was not doing anything to keep them out of the dining area. There were even some that had roosted in the alcoves above the dining room and had defecated on the beams which had not been cleaned up. The biggest thing was the odor when we arrived; it smelled like garbage on a hot day. It eventually went away, but that initial smell definitely lingered in the nose. You got the overall impression from the menu they are trying to be more fine dining but can't pull off the experience without properly trained staff. They should go back to what they were doing; relaxed, good American beach eatery foods and a great staff.More

We loved checking out the beach views to start the day with a delicious breakfast. The rumchatta coffee and mimosas were also a perfect pair to the breakfast tacos and skillets. Our children loved the pancakes!

We wanted to try another breakfast outside of our hotel and stopped here to try this beachfront cafe. The food and service were outstanding. They have a decent size menu - not an overwhelming amount, but good selections across a variety of different breakfast food...types. Our server was friendly and patient as we asked about various menu items and also about the restaurant and adjoining hotel. Food was served quickly and it tasted awesome.More

We booked here and was excited to go to this area of Key West. The booking took our reservation at 8:30. When we arrived we were told the restaurent stops serving at 8:30... everywhere else in Key West was past 9pm. They let us sit...down. The receptionist was rude and sullen. Couldnt even be bothered to set our table for 3 people. People kept coming out glaring at us and then walked back into the kitchen. When after 30 mins we asked if someone could take our order, we were told did we really want food as the place was closed. It was rude, ignorant, the poorest service in a holiday destination that has the utmost service. Please, check yourself before you book here. DONTMore

We arrived about 8:30 am and had a 20 minute wait for a table. Absolutely worth it. The view was lovely, our waiter was low key and not hustling us out even though there was an hour wait by the time we were seated. I...had the Cuban Benedict and it was tasty, perfectly poached eggs and a huge portion, we could have split either of our breakfasts and had plenty. My wife had the breakfast scrambler and thoroughly enjoyed it. If we had time on this trip we would go back again, but there are so many great restaurants in Key West to try out…More
