We booked over the phone for a 4 night/5 day stay. When we checked in, I was advised for the first time about the 45.00/day amenity fee. I'm not sure what that charge covers.

We were told that we could pick 2 activities during our stay that would be fully covered by the "Amenity Fee". The first was a wine tasting at the pool. The tasting started 15 minutes late and consisted of 2 tastes of the same wine. Each pour was roughly the amount of a double shot. We were advised that the wine was a Pinot Noir, however, it was a white wine.

The second activity was Beer School, which consisted of a similar size tasting of 2 different beers and no "School".

There was no daily cleaning of our room.

There was a dirty towel, rag and a half full water bottle on the floor by the ice machine which was not picked up the entire duration of our stay.

We requested more shampoo and body wash. They delivered shampoo and conditioner. The person who delivered them said he brought us some fresh towels which he handed to us in a plastic bag. When we opened the bag, we found wet, used, dirty towels.

We observed mold growing on the inside of an ice machine at one of the pool bars. When I noticed it, i tried to wipe off the outside with a napkin only to find out it was on the inside.

My total bill for 4 nights was just under 1700.00(including some food, drinks and 28.00/day parking fees). For this price, I expected a much better overall experience. I will not be returning and do not recommend this resort.

We visited this resort 5 years ago for our 20th wedding anniversary. It was fabulous then. We were upgraded and had a beautiful basket delivered to room on our special day. Fast forward 5 years to today. We requested an upgrade when they emailed requests (for an up charge). No upgrade given. They said they rarely have oceanfront rooms available. Then why email it offering? I told them about our anniversary- no acknowledgement. No room cleaning. Ever. Garbage cans are overflowing. Called for more coffee pods and water. They never came. Called back and was put on hold till I hung up. Still getting charged a facility fee of $40/night that I feel should be waived considering a 4 night stay and zero housekeeping services. The room started out clean but it’s starting to look a mess after 3 nights so far of no fresh towels, no emptying of garbage or refills on the basics like coffee/water. This place has lost its personalized touch. We will go elsewhere in the future, I’m afraid.

We visit Key West 3 times a year and have always stayed atThe Southernmost Beach Resort and this time was even better! We ended up staying in The Dewey House and it was gorgeous! Sasha showed us around and told us all of the fun things to do, He takes care of our luggage and makes sure we are happy each visit!! Todd came and greeted us and made sure we had all we needed to make our trip special he checked on us each day, he is very professional but always makes us laugh! The pool area was clean and lots of fun! David and Bruno made sure that we always had towels and would get us chairs if we needed them. Jelena and Alekandra made the best drinks and were so friendly and fun--they know exactly what we like and even create drinks that become our new favorites! Chef Matt made the delicious food and bought us out the most amazing Bloody Marys to help with our hang over morning!! Everyone always asked about our kids and remembers details about our family which is one of the many things that keep us coming back! The entire place was beautiful and the views and food from the Beach Cafe made breakfast and lunch so memorable. We had to meet with Jena Rose to walk through out wedding plans for next year. She was very organized and had ideas that we never even thought about. We felt like with the beauty of the location and the staff that have now grown to be part of our family, makes it the perfect place to get married. The time and the kindness that everyone has shown us means so much and we have not seen anywhere else. The people who work here appear very happy and have been here for years which says a lot about the company who runs it--keep it up! This was our first rip ever without our children so Thank you so much for making our stay so magical and making us feel like we were the only ones staying there! Our kids are so excited to come back with us!

This place is in really bad shape and there is no maintenance. We were out all day and returned to our room at 10:30 pm to find the blackout curtains were missing! The room was as bright as day all night due to a parking lot light shining into the room. The air conditioner remote was so old it didn’t work. The ceiling fan is old and noisy. When we asked in the morning to move Emily the manager moved us to a smaller room with no walk in shower! Terrible customer service and we are leaving a day early. The hotel is spread out over several blocks and after a hike to breakfast we are in what can get best be described as a jet wind tunnel due to loud fans blasting. There are lots of better more modern options in key west so find one of them.

Wow! That’s the first word that comes to mind when I think of my experience at Southernmost Resort.

To celebrate my birthday, my husband and I and two other couples booked hotel rooms in KW. We were torn about which property to choose between Southernmost, Pier House & Hyatt Centric. Although we can’t compare SM to the other properties, we were very happy with our choice.

Location: On the quieter end of Duval, but not a bad walk to the action. Mallory Square is walkable also as long as you stay hydrated and take breaks as needed. There is a small beach in the area as well.

Rooms: We stayed in the Tower Building (directly beside the main building where we check-in). Our room was 398 and overlooked the Pineapple Pool. The huge trees blocked a lot of the view BUT it also blocked a lot of the sun. We loved the balcony! Our bed was comfortable and all the basics were provided. We had a fridge but no microwave. We could’ve requested one, however.

Restaurant: We ate at the Southernmost Cafè twice (lunch & dinner). The food was pretty good, but others in our party didn’t like theirs as much. My husband and I both ordered crab omelettes with hash browns and toast for breakfast. For lunch I had the catch of the day (blackened snapper), pasta salad and another side...it was decent. My husband loved his Reuben and fries!

Service: Now, the service is what sets this place apart!!! From the time we arrived Mischna took EXCELLENT care of us! I enjoyed seeing him each day!! He was so kind, accommodating and helpful. Jewels, the concierge was exactly as her name suggests - a JEWEL!!! She never hesitated to answer any of our questions and she remembered us each day. She offered to book our dinner reservations, gave us maps of the town, and offered helpful information. We booked our excursions before arriving, but we’ll surely contact Jewel the next time around for all of our excursion needs.

Eric, the bellhop was good as well. Sasha, the bellhop/doorman was phenomenal!! He called taxis for us and opened the door every time we approached the door!! To be honest, we didn’t encounter a single rude employee. At the Pineapple Bar, there was an employee (not the bartender) who passed out Miami Vice daiquiris one day...he was amazing!! He smiled and chatted with us each time we saw him.

Guests: Hotels/resorts never know who they are booking rooms to. I was happy to learn, from experience, that all of the guests we saw and shared common spaces with were friendly or at least cordial. We had such a great time chatting with many of them!

Though we spent limited time in our rooms, when we did, we enjoyed every moment. Housekeeping delivered whatever we requested in a timely fashion and we felt like valued guests! We will definitely return!
