Hi everyone, will be staying in Marathon Key for 3 nights this weekend and week and am wondering if there are many options for gluten free food in key west? We have a traveler with us that has a gluten allergy and is already a picky eater... Would appreciate any recommendations! thanks!

25 helpful votes Are they not eating in Marathon :( That's an hour drive each way just to go out and eat.
We will be eating in Marathon as well! I'd take recommendations for Marathon and surrounding keys for sure! Didn't mean to put it like that. We will be in Key west for at least one day so was looking for things there as well. Just thought there would be more options down there?
The cafe and moondog have many gluten free options

140 helpful votes Banana Cafe also has gluten free options. The menu is online and items are labeled gluten free (gf).

Kaya Island Eats, Amigo's, Off The Hook, and Santiago's all have gluten-free options or menus.

These are the places we typically visit:

Mangia Mangia
Seven Fish
Amigo's Tortilla Bar
The Boathouse
Milagro
Salute on the Beach
A&B Lobster House
GF Key Lime Pie at Key West Key Lime Pie Co on Greene Street
Mangia Mangia has gluten free pasta and a cute little outdoor courtyard.
It almost seems uncommon now for decent places not to have a few GF options.
Just don’t expect most restaurants to be super careful if your friend has celiac and not just gluten free. Just because they offer options doesn’t mean they don’t cross contaminate . Someone with celiac could be adversely affected
