Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work - April 25th

Designed to be more than a career day, the Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work® program goes beyond the average practice of “shadowing” an adult. Exposing children to what a parent or mentor does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities of work and family life, providing boys and girls a chance to share how they envision the future, and allowing them to begin steps toward their goals in a hands-on and interactive environment is key to their achieving success.

School Climate Surveys

As part of the effort to promote school improvement and educational accountability, the district conducts an annual school climate survey of students, parents, and teachers/staff. School Climate Surveys of parents, students, and staff have been annually administered in the Miami-Dade County Public School district since the early 1990s. The purpose of these surveys is to gather information regarding what these groups think about the school and their perceptions concerning how the school can be improved. All responses are due by Friday, May 10, 2024.

FAST and EOCs Testing Calendar

Students in grades 6-8 will complete the FAST Writing Assessment April 3-5th. In addition, students will complete the FAST ELA, Math and EOCs in May. Please see attached calendar for grade/subject information.

Be a Upstander

In an effort to further empower school communities to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, Miami-Dade County Public Schools is excited to launch the Upstander Initiative. Attached is a flyer that defines an upstander and details how a student can help while keeping safe by identifying a negative situation, steps on interventions and resources for reporting incidents to the proper staff.

Mental Health Parent Assistance

In an effort to provide additional hours of support and resources to parents/guardians seeking assistance for their child, the Office of Mental Health and Student Services provides daily operating hours through the Mental Health Parent Assistance Line.
