Sophie Eleonore (also Sofie Eleonore or Sophia Eleonore) was the second but eldest surviving child of Johann Georg I, Elector of Saxony (Kurfürst von Sachsen) and his wife, Magdalene Sibylle von Brandenburg and was born 23 November 1609 at Dresden.[1] She was apparently christened at Dresden on 17 December 1609.[2]
She married at Schloss Torgau, 1 April 1627, Georg II, Reigning Landgraf von Hessen-Darmstadt.
