- Hip hop music1200 Techniques are an Australian hip hop group consisting of the old school 80's Aerosol Artist & Founder Dj Peril Guitarist. They formed in 1997, initially with N'fa's brother, Kabba, who moved to London in 1998. Their first album, Choose One (2002), was a crossover success which debuted at #20 in the Australian music charts, leading to an ARIA award nomination for "breakthrough artist" and winning "best debut artist" and "best hip-hop act" awards at the Dance Music Awards. The album included the single "Karma," which also charted in the Australian top 40 and won ARIA awards for "best independent release" and "best video". The group also played a support slot on a Linkin Park tour that year and went on their own tour supported by American rapper Princess Superstar. Following the release of their second album, Consistency Theory (2004) and subsequent touring, the group went on hiatus in 2005 to allow the individual members to pursue solo work. The group have been described as "an important part" of the mainstream recognition of hip-hop in Australia, whilst drawing influences from other genres including rock, funk, soul, electro, drum and bass, electro jazz and breakbeat.
Pop musicAlana Schofield Davis (born May 6, 1974) is an American singer-songwriter. Her father, Walter Davis Jr., was an African-American pianist who played alongside such jazz greats as Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. A record deal with Elektra Records produced Davis' first two albums; Blame It on Me, which was chosen as one of Time's five best albums of 1997, and 2001's Fortune Cookies, which featured production by The Neptunes and Ed Tuton. She released videos of the songs "32 Flavors" and "Crazy." Davis achieved a radio hit with the single "32 Flavors" from her debut album. The song is a cover version of a track written and previously recorded by Ani DiFranco. Blame It on Me stayed on the Billboard Top 200 for seven weeks, peaking at #157 in February 1998 and reaching sales of over 240,000 in the United States. "Murder", also from Blame It on Me, was sampled on Jay-Z's Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter. After a guest appearance on the 1999 soundtrack to The Mod Squad, Davis left Elektra and signed a single deal with SME Records. She released the single "Carry On" on this label, and the song was featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Sony Electronics. Tired of major record labels, Davis went independent in 2005 and formed her own, label Tigress Records. She released a third album, Surrender Dorothy, on this label, which featured the single "Wide Open." In 2006, Davis toured with Thievery Corporation for a couple of dates as a guest vocalist. In July 2017, Davis played 2 shows, one in Rochester, New York, and one in New York City. In May 2018, Davis released her long-awaited 4th studio album, Love Again.- Pop musicAlexis (born 2 December 1968) is a German pop and gala singer. She is mainly known for participating in the German "Rudi Carrell Show" (a show similar to "Star Search" or "Pop Idol") in 1989, singing Whitney Houston's song "One Moment In Time" (which brought her a major record deal with Sony Records). She later sang the female lead role on the German Top 10 album "Tabaluga & Lilli" (a conceptual pop record for children) and later toured Germany with the musical "Tabaluga & Lilli."
