Was in town for a short visit had to go to Tony's on Main, never disappoint. Sat at the bar Sunday just as they open. Nice crowd. Bartender was nice even though he had a tooth ache. Noticed my PGA shirt and told me the e played that course. Food was awesome as always. Started off with Tito's bloody Mary well made. Ceasar salad was fresh. Main course fillet mignon order rare came out perfectly side of garlic mashed potatoes and rolls and butter made for a great meal. If I lived closer I would be there more often, my must go to restaurant in St Charles. Support local

Great local food experience in historical downtown

Have ate here several times and always enjoyed our meal, this time it was the salmon and vegetable medley with asparagus and Ceaser salad. Service is always good and restaurant has a homey nostalgic feel and there are several shops along main in walking distance to enjoy before or after your meal. Reservations might ensure getting a table when you have a timeline but I’ve been several times without 1 and gotten seated within 15 min of arrival. Parking is a little scarce and if your older you might want to Uber so no walking in the heat or cold. The loaded potato wedges are delicious and compliment any meal. The river is a good place to walk after meal and Louis and Clark museum is in the vicinity.

Great American bar - 3 rd time driving cross country MUST stop to drink and eat here. Get there early have a couple of drinks at bar and then get Hanna’s special. Best of the best fun people ,great staff. Claire the bartender remembers us after a year. Old man one saying this is one of the 10 best bar restaurants in the USA.

Tony's On Main is Outstanding

I've been enjoying Tony's On Main for over 23 years, twice a week (family night + guy's night). I'm a pretty humble guy but I will claim "expertise" on rating this restaurant. The food is consistently outstanding as well as the service. It's always fun but the staff is very professional. I highly recommend. I would disregard those posting lower ratings - they either have a bad attitude or work for the competition. Tony's has a line every Fri and Sat and many other nights and that says it all. Love this place!

First take a walk back to the restrooms. You will pass by the kitchen and smell exactly how your food will taste! Greasy… So disappointed, and especially of their high ratings here in St. Charles, MO, no way is it one of the better restaurants here in town! It has been around for years, but tonight was our first/last visit., come on people, really?

Bad experience and food

I’ve eaten at Tony’s many times and this was by far the worst experience from the service to the food. First off we got there at 4pm when they first opened before it got extremely busy and we wanted to eat outside on the balcony. We were the first ones seated. We weren’t quite ready to order when we were first asked. That was our first mistake because it took the waiter at least 20 minutes to come back again. Meanwhile he was filling everyone else’s orders and bringing their drinks. He finally came back and we ordered the garlic cheese bread appetizer, two Main Street burgers with “extra cheese”, one cooked medium and one medium well and also a Tony’s steak sandwich. About 40 minutes later we finally got our meal. Neither burger came with extra cheese. Trust me I know as we’ve had this many times. Also the burgers were well done because there was no pink at all on the inside and the outside was a little crispy even. They are normally super juicy and tender. This was dried out. I thought maybe the burgers got switched, but no they were the same. Then the steak sandwich had so much juice/grease on the plate that the bottom bun was super soggy. When informing the waiter he said he could send it back, but we didn’t want to have to wait another 40 minutes. You would think he would take off the $4 extra cheese charge since we didn’t get that, but he didn’t. Not sure that we will be back as it’s either gone down hill or they are not at all attentive to the outside customers food being ready. Extremely disappointing for a $17 burger. The garlic cheese bread was the best part, but you can’t really mess that up.

Tasty Food and Martinis!

We celebrated finishing our ride on the Katy Trail. Just what we needed! Great dirty martinis, bbq nachos to start, then a filet and chicken combo. Really nice staff, quick service and good food.

Great food and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the upstairs patio overlooking historic street. Great combo options and the house dressing was fantastic. Definitely one of our best meals!

Not as good as it used to be

We started off with scallops which were very good. I got ribeye steak and it was not seasoned well the only seasoning was mixed with a lot of butter the steak was not good. My husband got a filet and shrimp. The strip was pre cooked and it was cold his steak just just ok again his wasn’t seasoned at all either. We won’t be back. It’s gone down hill.

Great Steaks and Service

The food and service was excellent! You will definitely need to make a reservation if you want to be seated quickly. We showed up at the exact time of our reservation and it took about 15 minutes or so for them to get our table ready for us. The bar room where you enter was warm (note: the heat index was 106° when we visited so it is likely not always like this) but the dining room was cool and comfortable. The garlic cheese bread was the perfect start to our meal and the steak butter was delicious. We will visit again!

Just The Best Restaurant Experience Anywhere!

After 23+ years Tony's is our every Friday dinner spot. Food is as outstanding today as it was 23 years ago. Service and employees are unlike any place else you will ever go - super friendly, efficient and dedicated. Where else do you see servers, bartenders and bussers literally running from one place to another and always doing extra to keep the restaurant humming and customers happy? It's actually fun to watch such a great operation as well as the great experience their hard work provides. Just go here!

The Best on Main Street!

Superb service and a warm welcoming atmosphere make this a perfect dining spot , but please note they are closed Monday’s and hours are evening only so reservations are a plus. They have a bar area happy hour hour specials and a full bar menu.Shrimp artichoke dip is absolutely delicious and a must try, Steak is a favorite and always cooked to perfection. Chicken Modiga is the best ,lightly breaded chicken smothered with mushrooms, prosciutto, provel cheese and a creamy lemon white wine sauce There are so many delicious choices on the menu you can’t go wrong

Clueless hostess

I would prefer to rate zero stars but thats not an option. We came in on a Saturday night without a reservation and was told it would be a 45 minute wait - completely understandable. In the 45 minute wait we watched 4 parties come and be told the same wait time only to see each party seated before us. The best the hostess could do? "Sorry, you'll get the next table". Its now after 8PM, an hour and 40 minutes since I entered. I will not return and advise you to get any time promise from the hostess, in writing and remind her often.
