Q&A
Benjamin is a true hommie.
Can someone remind me of his backstory?
Yeah he is the IT guy at their firm who noone could get to do anything because he hated everyone. But Mike brought him food and he thought it was so nice, so he helps him out from time to time.
You left out the part where he blackmailed him.
But still ... bacon.
You're a Harvard Douche! You don't remember him
MVP of this episode for sure.
HELL NO. MVP would be Jimmy for sureeeee. He perjured himself for Mike. That would've destroyed his future but he didn't care
Why does Mike keep meeting people out in the open? Isn't it painfully apparent she is tracking everyone coming in and out of the law firm???
This bothers me SO MUCH. There are so many times during this trial process alone where if Mike would just listen to Harvey, they wouldn't be creating more problems to fix.

He was never street smart; except for the first episode.
Jimmy is fam ❤️
Jimmy, Harold, and Benjamin. All the true homies.
I'm pretty sure Harold was planted by Gibbs.
Its could be true. Fuck that.
No, Harold will save the day somehow. They want us to think he's weak and that he'd cave, which is why they had Jimmy explicitly say that. What would be more dramatic than to have one of the least clutch characters save the day for once?
I guess I'm not the only one who got that strange vibe from him.
real friends.
how many of us
how many jealous?
Nah harold got my respect!
I have a feeling Harold was approached by Gibbs.
I thought that when he was called to the stand he'd say that he had never seen Mike at Harvard, so Mike goes to jail and he could be with Rachel
Remind me to stay on your good side
Yeah, but keep in mind that if he would go up on the stand and say he never saw Mike at harvard, that would be all the prosecution needs to get a complete win on the case (after what trevor told them on the stand). So I feel like if Harold was indeed approached by Gibbs to rat Mike out, he would have been a LOT more persistent in "taking the stand" for Mike after Mike refused.
That being said, I believe his offer was genuine.
And maybe he was a bait..I can see that
Anita Gibbs is that girl in the class who reminds the teacher he missed to give homework.
I HATE her
And to think that she's only 3 episodes old.
Doesn't it show how good of an actor she is if she can make you hate her?
Yep and a well written character. Right up there with Dolores Umbridge.
actually they did not give her any backstory at all. In the past, whoever came after one of the main characters had a reason. I keep wondering why she is so passionately after Pearson & Specter. Its not like she is starting her career and is looking for a big win.
The DOJ is known for being particularly ruthless when there's a potential to convict a high profile white collar criminal. The motive is to make an example of them so that other companies don't try the same thing. That's why they always offer a deal to lower level employees in exchange for proof that the CEO, or Managing Partner in this case, knew.

Just... what the fuck? How does she fucking know EVERYTHING?!
That's what I hate about this show. Too surreal.
she hires private investigators on everyone. it can happen irl
Just trying to follow this train of thought here (not criticizing your idea). How does a PI find out that Louis was going to quit and then became partner? All the other stuff like mudding and enjoying ballet I get. But that?
Edit: muddling to mudding
They had to hand over all the documents in the firm which included Louis' resignation letter as well as when he became name partner.
Wouldn't the resignation letter be destroyed as soon as Lewis was offered the named partnership though?
Shes a fan she watched the other seasons? :p Really I hope they give her some extra secret motivation for this crusade because she's going after them way too hard to be just doing her job.
Student: Dr. Vullev, will there be MATLAB on the midterm?
Dr. V: that's a good idea.
Yeah. But the interesting thing is I actually like her character. She is by far the strongest foe that they have faced. Obviously that's how they chose to write her, but Leslie does a very good job with her character in showing what a cold hearted bitch she can be.

FTFY
With every passing episode I just want Gibbs dead more and more. She's like the Joffrey of the lawyer world.
Well, we can call Saul, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows another guy who can send her on a trip to Belize.
Literally would be the most epic cameo in history
Better analogy: the Dolores Umbridge of the lawyer world.
ye this is better, she really isn't as bad as joff.... i think
I agree I mean, witness tampering, getting people to lie on the stand, and lying under oath.. Oh wait. Gibbs is the one gleefully trying to prosecute the person who is 100% guilty and all the people who are also 100% guilty of lying for him.

Once. Jessica was with Louis the other time.
best comparison is to the ATF Agent Stahl in Sons of Anarchy

I've been comparing Gibbs to Stahl from the start. Fuck these g-(wo)men trying to take down the criminals that I root for.
:)
Louis never disappoints
Apart from taking that damn card at the end.
I don't think he'll turn on Mike. They might have him do it but reveal it as a bluff at the last minute so he could get leverage on Gibbs or something
With you here, as soon as she handed him her card I thought that Louis and PSL now have a way to trick Gibbs
I legit thought PSL stood for Pumpkin Spice Latte and was wracking my brain trying to figure out when Gibbs gave him one in the episode.
I'm thinking they'll use the fact that she violated the restraining order against her.
I'm wondering if he can use the card as proof that Gibbs violated the restraining order...
That was my first thought. I actually wanted him to take the card so he could prove Gibbs contacted her
Fuck you Trevor.
I'm already mad and we're only ten seconds in.
If we take the recent post on r/suits into account, I think we'll be fine.
I just read through it... and shit
which post are you guys referring to
I think this one
HUGE spoilers if this person is right.
It's just speculation... "Rachel is gonna make it worse somehow, but I won't tell how"... Yeah that's what they've been hinting at the entire season genius.
It's not an episode of suits until I see Rachel god damn Zane crying.
Bullshit!
That's bullshit and you know it
GOD DAMNED BULLSHIT!
OHHHH FUCKKKKK WE HAVE LOGAN INVOLVED HARVEY THAT WAS BRUTAL
Kind of a low blow, but this mock trail has me at the edge of my seat.
Cant wait until the real thing gets started, its going to be gritty!
I dunno, I found it to be a bit of a mockery with all the false evidence.
Harvey didn't prep Donna for court?
Was waiting for Harvey's brilliant redirect re-framing Donna's taking the fifth. [sigh]
The writing has been pretty shit all season but, but finally getting to court was just unbelievably bad.
He's worked nearly 100 fraudulent cases. Every day for years, he surrounded himself with people who actually attended Harvard Law. He inexplicably quit being a lawyer entirely for a brief time to work as an investment banker. We're finally in trial and there are so many people who could hurt Mike's case in one way or another, so many questions to ask, and what actually ends up hurting his case is Donna basically lies.
During those interviews, Donna asked "You're late, why should I let you in?" to which Mike replied, "Look, I don't care if you let me in, I'm just running from the cops." That's all he said. The reason she let him in was because he made a joke. He made an impression on her.
But tonight, of all the questions to be asked to all the people Mike has been involved with, Donna is called as a witness and is asked "Why did you let him in?" Easiest question ever. But she has apparently forgotten the joke and all of that, and instead she remembers the name she happened to have read off the list before he came bursting through the door.
"I let him in because he said he was Rick Sorkin"
Come the fuck on, writers
This is one of those cases where a character goes "out of character" and does something they wouldn't normally do just for the sake of furthering the story, and it sucks to watch because you no longer get to see the character that's been established for a few episodes or seasons, but a different character entirely. It was completely uncharacteristic for Donna to respond that way.
Yeah, Donna usually runs through anything, but now she was this cowardly damsel who had to turn to Harvey when she started feeling a little bit of heat.
Like Donna is clutch. This was not Donna, but more like what Rachel would have done
It's like Donna and Rachel switched roles in this episode. Donna was on the verge of tears, and Rachel was the calm and reasonable one.
I would argue that this particular case is exactly what made this episode great, more specifically the Donna scene. Of course we would want to see Donna being Donna and say all the right stuffs and mention that joke.
But this is to demonstrate the human side of Donna, that she is not invincible and even when it come to something as seemingly easy as remembering the first connection she had with Mike (who is basically family to her). Furthermore, who would have guessed that she would break break and take the 5th? That was a surprise, albeit being a very unpleasant one.
