When Simon de Montfort was born in 1025, in Montfort-l'Amaury, Yvelines, Île-de-France, France, his father, Count Amaury Seigneur De Montfort, was 26 and his mother, Bertrade de Gometz, was 25. He married Isabella de Broyes Basset about 1055. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 25 September 1087, at the age of 62, and was buried in Épernon, Eure-et-Loir, France.
