It looks like Nelly is back on the market.
The rapper’s longtime girlfriend, Shantel Jackson, revealed that she and Nelly are dunzo by responding to a fan question on Instagram about their relationship status.
“R u nelly still together i love seeing u guys together,” one of Jackson’s followers asked on a photo Jackson posted Saturday.
“No we’re not ….. Just friends,” she replied.
The revelation led to a plethora of heartbroken fan comments, with one person writing, “oh noo 😢 i loved seeing you guys together,” and another commenting, “I’m soo sorry to hear that 😢😢*hugs to you* 🥰🥰definitely all for happiness so if you’re happy I’m happy for you ❣️❣️.”
The “Country Grammar” rapper, 46, and the Shoe Gummi founder — who dated for over six years — haven’t posted about each other on social media since January 2021.
Page Six has reached out to Nelly’s rep for comment.
In 2018, Jackson stood up for Nelly after he was accused of sexual assault, saying there was no truth to the accusations because she was “at those venues, in the dressing rooms, and on that tour bus.”
Two claims against the rapper were dropped in 2018 and 2019, according to People.
Just last year Jackson supported Nelly as he competed on Season 29 of “Dancing with the Stars.” He even went as far as to call Jackson “the one” while filming the competition show, according to People.
“I would not want my life to not have Shantel in it,” Nelly shared in a video filmed for “DWTS” in 2020. “We’ve been seeing each other for five or six years. Any time you can connect with somebody like that, it works out for the long run. She’s sweet, beautiful, and the more we got to know each other, she’s just as beautiful inside.”
Nelly even suggested they would be engaged soon, telling his “DWTS” partner Daniella Karagach they were “working towards it.”
