I love to go to musicals and plays at the Segal. They are one of the few theatres catering to the English speaking population and are not afraid to try new things. A plus is that you can easily find free parking in the vicinity, a rarity for Montreal.

Whilst visiting Montreal, I was lucky enough to get tickets to see Million Dollar Quartet at the Segal Centre.
A musical based on the story of a record label, Sun Records, who had Elvis, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis all on their books at the same time.
The live music was brilliant, the guitar and piano playing was excellent, no better than that and along with the singing, all of which was based around the original songs in the late 50's.
The average age in the theatre was 'White hair' and 'walking sticks' who all seemed to be tapping their feet and hands and just lovin it.
The shows on until the 14th May and then transfers to the Place Des Arts.
Get yourself some tickets and do yourself a favour, you will just love this show, even if like me, the music comes from an era just before mine...but the music will Rock your boat.....I just loved it.

The first time I came to here a couple of years ago I was impressed with the venue's infrastructure, modern design, and ambitious artistic projects. The big question, though, was... are the productions any good? All I can say is that today I find the Segal Centre to be among the top performing arts centres in Montreal due to the rich programming and the talent they're able to attract.

I most recently saw the beloved musical "Guys and Dolls" and I found it thrilling to be able to see such a high-quality production here in town that was being played in a more intimate theatre. It was a Broadway-standard performance for less than half the price of a ticket in NYC. I highly recommend seeing a show at the Segal Centre as I have yet to be disappointed.

We visited the Segal Centre for Opening Night of Guys and Dolls. The theatre is perfect. There's not a bad seat in the house. Acoustics are excellent and the stage small, but very well managed. The reception area is spacious and well staffed, getting a glass of wine was quite quick. The theatre is located in the heart of the Université campus, so finding a cab afterwards required a phone call, which was easily coordinated through the theatre's box office desk. I look forward to attending the theatre again some day!

Went to see The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz last night and it was well worth it. The acting was very good and the singing wonderful. A few of the actors/singers were quite memorable and I would love to see them in another show/musical. I'm considering getting a membership as the 2015-2016 program sounds quite interesting.

Saw an English-language play here during Feb 2012 visit. The play was OK, but the design and decor of the Segal Centre was pleasant the prices at this not for profit organization are reasonable. Come out of the Cote De Catherine Metro on the orange line and turn left. It's a 10 minute walk.

It was a fun night surrounded by theater geeks in their best voice chiming out 'How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria' and 'Summer Nights'.

The music was a non-stop party of familiar Broadway music ranging from the 30s to today. It felt like everyone in the crowd was your buddy, Nick included.

A fun way to while away a Saturday night.

Piece of advice: get there early if you want a seat!

With Montreal’s declining English comunity you would expect an inferior English theatre.
Yes the venue is not huge, but the quality of shows sure make you feel like they are.
In either theatre you really feel like you are part of the production.....love this Gem of a Theatre!
