List of Yo-kai Watch characters

The following is a list of characters from Level-5's video game and anime franchise, Yo-kai Watch.

The version of the manga distributed in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei, by Shogakukan Asia uses the original Japanese names.

Main humans (Original series)

The five major human characters are students of Springdale Elementary / Sakura First Elementary School (さくら第一小学校, Sakura Daiichi Shōgakkō). Nate, Bear, Eddie, and Katie are in Class 5–2, while Hailey is in Class 5–1.

Nathan "Nate" Adams / Keita "K-ta" Amano (天野 景太 / ケータ, Amano Keita)

The protagonist of the series. An 11-year-old boy who has a crush on Katie and is average at most things, which bothers him. However, he is active and cheerful and well-liked by his classmates. While bug hunting in the forest, he discovers a capsule machine under a sacred tree, from which he frees Whisper and is given the Yo-kai Watch, which allows him to see and befriend Yo-kai and summon them into battle. He is the male protagonist of the games and the shōnen manga series. In the shōjo manga series, he does not possess a Yo-kai Watch and is unaware of the existence of Yo-kai.

Katie Forester / Fumika "Fumi-chan" Kodama (木霊 文花 / フミちゃん, Kodama Fumika / Fumi-chan)

A girl in Nate's class at school who is highly intelligent, but afraid of failing to meet her mother's standards, and is often admired by her fellow male students, particularly Nate. She is the female protagonist in the video games and the shōjo manga series. In contrast to Nate's watch, Katie's Yo-kai Watch is shaped like a pocket watch with a floral design, which she wears as a pendant around her neck. In the anime series, outside of a dream Whisper has in episode 67, she does not possess a Yo-kai Watch and is unaware of the presence of Yo-kai. Katie is also featured in the Mini Corners, where Kyubi tries to win over her heart.

Barnaby "Bear" Bernstein / Gorōta "Kuma" Kumashima (熊島 五郎太 / クマ, Kumashima Gorōta / Kuma)

Nate's friend and classmate, who appears intimidating, but in reality is friendly and sensitive. He has a younger sister, Bearmie, who lives in America and has a boyfriend named Arnold.

Edward "Eddie" Archer / Kanchi Imada (今田 干治 / カンチ, Imada Kanchi)

Nate's friend and classmate, who often hangs out with Bear and wears headphones. He is a son of wealthy designers, and does not believe in the paranormal and is skilled with technology.

Hailey Anne Thomas / Inaho Misora (未空 イナホ, Misora Inaho)

A young girl in Nate's school who is introduced in Yo-kai Watch 3 and the anime's second season, who loves science fiction and outer space. After Usapyon tricks her into buying the Yo-kai Watch U Prototype, she agrees to help him build a rocket to make his former owner Dr. Hughly's dreams come true. Afterwards, they start a detective agency to investigate Yo-kai "crimes" in the city of Sparkopolis.

Summer Adams / Natsume Amano (天野ナツメ, Amano Natsume)

The main protagonist of Yo-kai Watch Shadowside: Oni-ō no Fukkatsu and Yo-kai Watch Shadowside. She is a junior high schooler and the daughter of Nate and Katie, as well as Tate's sister. She nearly drowned in a river when she was young, but was saved by a mysterious figure. In the film, she is chosen by the Yo-kai Watch Arcane, allowing her to harness the power of summoning Yo-kai. Alongside Cole and Bruno, she fights against the Demon King Rasen to protect Yo-kai and humans. In Shadowside, she runs the Yo-kai Detective Agency alongside Cole and Bruno.

Cole / Touma Tsukinami (月浪トウマ, Tsukinami Tōma)

Voiced by: Yudai Chiba (movie), Yoshiaki Hasegawa (anime)

A junior high schooler who, growing up, was often alone because his parents were away overseas. As a result, he was often bullied by his peers and over time became antisocial and hateful towards others. In the film, he is cursed by one of Rasen's followers and given the Kigan Gear, which he uses to spread evil and malice. Later in the film, he is redeemed and the Kigan Gear transforms into the Yo-kai Watch Ogre, which allows him to transform into Progenitor Yo-kai. In Yo-kai Watch Shadowside, he runs the Yo-kai Detective Agency alongside Summer and Bruno.

Bruno / Akinori Arihoshi (有星アキノリ, Arihoshi Akinori)

Voiced by: Mutsumi Tamura

An apprentice shaman and the oldest of the Arihoshi siblings, who have used Yo-kai in fortune telling for many generations. Unlike Summer and Cole, he is capable of using spells and incantations. He also possesses the Yo-kai Watch Animas, allowing him to summon Celestial Yo-kai. In Yo-kai Watch Shadowside, he runs the Yo-kai Detective Agency alongside Summer and Cole.

Tate Adams / Keisuke Amano (天野ケースケ, Amano Keisuke)

Voiced by: Haruka Tomatsu

One of the main protagonists of Yo-kai Watch Shadowside. He is Summer's younger brother and a fifth-grade student, who does not believe in supernatural phenomena. In the film, he is cursed by the Onimaro virus and turned into a Kaodeka Oni, but is cured after the Demon King is defeated and the Onimaro virus is eradicated from the city.

Main Yo-kai

Whisper (ウィスパー, Wisupā)

A Yo-kai of the Slippery tribe who becomes Nate’s self-appointed butler after he frees him from the capsule he was imprisoned in and helps him to understand the Yo-kai World and its interactions with the human world. Whisper claims to be very knowledgeable about Yo-kai, but in reality relies heavily on a tablet computer called the Yokai Pad (妖怪パッド, Yōkai Paddo) to look up information. He often dismisses Nate's suspicions that a Yo-kai is involved with mysterious occurrences in his life, only to be proven wrong almost instantly. Following an incident with the Yo-kai Watch Type Zero, Nate can switch between the different Yo-kai Watch models by putting his arm inside Whisper's mouth. In the anime, it is revealed he was a Yo-kai named Nonuttin (Shittakaburi (シッタカブリ, from shittakaburi (知ったかぶり, "know-it-all")) in Japan), whose belches cause people to claim to know all about things when they actually do not. When he was Nonuttin, he worked alongside Ishida Mitsunari (Shogun Waitington in English).

Jibanyan (ジバニャン, from jibakurei (地縛霊, "residual haunting") and nyan (にゃん, "meow"))

A nekomata Yo-kai of the Charming Tribe who is the ghost of the cat Rudy (Akamaru (アカマル) in Japanese). Rudy was the pet of a teenager named Amy until he died after being hit by a truck while crossing an intersection. He has since become a residual haunting and possesses people to make them cross the street without waiting for the signal so he can try to fight the cars and avenge his death. When Nate believes that Jibanyan is brave for his actions, Jibanyan is surprised and overwhelmed with joy, and befriends Nate. He later ends up staying at Nate's house, where he often spends his time eating chocolate bars or worshipping his favorite idol group, Next HarMEOWny. Jibanyan had assumed that Amy called him lame for dying, but after being sent back in time by the Kin and Gin, he learns that she was actually referring to herself and that he had died saving her from being hit by a truck as she crossed the intersection to meet with her friends. Jibanyan can transform into different Yo-kai under certain circumstances. While possessed by Roughraff, Jibanyan becomes the bōsōzoku-inspired Baddinyan, who thinks he is doing bad things but is actually not scary. When he gets a cold, he becomes Thornyan (トゲニャン), who is green and grows cactus-like spikes that shoot out when he sneezes. In Yo-kai Watch 2, he can fuse with Whisper to create Buchinyan (ブチニャン). When Nate receives the medal of the Legendary Yo-kai Shogunyan, Jibanyan becomes possessed by his spirit and takes on the appearance of a samurai.

Komasan (コマさん, from komainu (狛犬))

A lion dog Yo-kai of the Charming Tribe from the countryside, who Nate and Whisper meet while he is visiting the city for the first time. He is Komajiro’s brother, but when the shrine he used to guard was knocked down for construction, he tried to adapt to life in the city. However, he is overwhelmed by its sights and sounds and his love for soft serve ice cream. He is featured prominently in the anime and is one of the main protagonists of Yo-kai Watch Blasters and its sequel Yo-kai Watch Blasters 2. In the anime, his "Mini Corner" segments feature him adapting to life in the city while working in a toy company and falling in love with a manga artist. In Japanese, he tends to use Mongē (もんげー) as an exclamation and ends his sentences with zura (ズラ), while in the English dub, he speaks in a country dialect and often exclaims "Oh my swirls!" when amazed. In Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daiō to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!, he and Komajiro gain an adoptive human brother named Komasaburo.

In Yo-kai Watch 2, the player can get a special version of Komasan who has a frog-mouth pouch (がまぐちポーチ, gamaguchi pōchi).

Komajiro (コマじろう, Komajirō, -jirō (二郎) is a common name component in Japan traditionally given to the second born son in the family)

A Yo-kai who is Komasan's younger brother and also of the Charming tribe. He is more outgoing and ready to experience the city than Komasan, and has adapted to city life better than him. In Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daiō to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!, he and Komasan gain an adoptive human brother named Komasaburo.

Usapyon / USApyon (USAピョン, from "USA", usagi (うさぎ, "rabbit"), and pyonpyon (ぴょんぴょん, "bouncing"))

A 'Merican Yo-kai of the Shady Tribe who introduces Hailey Anne to Yo-kai. Despite wearing a rabbit-shaped astronaut suit with rabbit ears on the helmet, he is not a rabbit. When Hailey pushes him too far, he activates his "Invader Mode" (ベイダーモード, Beidā Mōdo) and starts firing his laser gun everywhere. In life, he was an otter named Chibi (チビ), who was taken in by rocket scientist Dr. Hughly and poised to be the first small animal to survive going into space, but was killed in a rocket malfunction he accidentally caused. As a Yo-kai, Usapyon wants to make Hughly's dream a reality by making a new rocket powered by Yo-kai Medals, seeking out Hailey's help to build it.

Robonyan / Robonyan F / Robonyan F-gata (ロボニャン, from "robot" (ロボット, robotto))

Voiced by: Naoki Bandō, Yuko Sasamoto (episode 9) (Japanese); Joey D'Auria (Seasons 1-2), Alicyn Packard (episode 9), Tony Azzolino (Season 3) (English)

A robot cat Yo-kai of the Tough tribe from the future, who was created after Jibanyan became a robot. He can detach his paws to perform a rocket punch, and his body also contains a chocolate bar factory. While staying at Nate's house, he runs up the electric bill when he charges up overnight, much to the anger of Nate's mother. After meeting his future counterpart who sacrificed himself to save the planet from a meteor, Robonyan upgrades himself to match his form, becoming Robonyan F.

Blizzaria / Fubuki-hime / Blizzie / Fubuki-chan (ふぶき姫, from fubuki (吹雪, "snow storm") and hime (姫, "princess"))

A humanoid Yo-kai of the Charming tribe based on the yuki-onna, who evolves from Frostina after she is fused with the Glacial Clip. Blizzaria is one of Mr. Crabbycat's colleagues at the Yo-kai school in the Mr. Crabbycat segments. She brings a freezing blizzard everywhere she goes, and strongly believes there should be no discrimination between hot or cold types. As a result, she constantly attempts to hang out with Swelterrier's gang of fiery Yo-kai, but is unaware that her ice abilities are causing them to suffer.

Blazion / Melamelion (メラメライオン, Merameraion, from meramera (めらめら, "burning up"))  

Voiced by: Yuko Sasamoto (Japanese); Brent Pendergrass (English)

A lion-like Yo-kai of the Brave tribe that makes people more energetic and want to win things. He possesses Nate and his friends at a park clean-up field trip, but Hungramps and Happierre manage to bring things back to normal. In life, he was a circus lion who died saving a child from a fire: his scar is a result of trying to escape from his cage.

Hidabat / Hikikōmori (ヒキコウモリ, from hikikomori (引きこもり, "social withdrawal") and kōmori (コウモリ, "bat"))

A bat Yo-kai of the Shady tribe that prefers to spend its time indoors and never go outside, and forces people to feel the same way. Hidabat appears in Nate's room, making Jibanyan feel like staying inside forever and locking Nate out. After Jibanyan is forced out by Happierre and Dismarelda, Fidgephant is used to drive Hidabat out of Jibanyan and Hidabat admits that he is afraid to go outside. Nate allows Hidabat to stay in his room and Hidabat gives Nate his Yo-kai Medal out of gratitude. He later becomes famous within the Yo-kai World.

Shogunyan / Bushinyan (ブシニャン, from bushi (武士, "warrior"))

A Legendary samurai Yo-kai of the Brave Tribe who is Jibanyan's ancestor from the Edo period and possesses him when Nate calls on him.

Tomnyan (トムニャン, from tomukyatto (トムキャット, "Tom cat"))

Voiced by: Kazuhiro Fusegawa

A 'Merican cat Yo-kai of the Charming tribe, who has the ability to Americanize people he possesses. He wears a haramaki with a design based on the Stars and Stripes, and ends his sentences with "meow". He is a fan of Lady Nyanya. He and Jibanyan are similar in appearances and backstory, as, like him, he died saving his owner, Emily, from being hit by a truck.

The Last Nyanmurai / Last Bushinyan (ラストブシニャン)

A 'Merican Legendary samurai cat Yo-kai of the Brave Tribe. He is a recolored version of Shogunyan who wears an eyepatch.

Venoct / Orochi (オロチ, from Yamata no Orochi (八岐の大蛇))

A powerful snake Yo-kai of the Slippery tribe who seeks to fight powerful opponents. He appears in Springdale seeking to fight Rubeus J, who attacked his village and killed him, causing him to become a Yo-kai. He mistakes Jibanyan for his target but ultimately manages to defeat Rubeus J, who tells him that Hardy Hound is stronger than him.

Kyubi (キュウビ, Kyūbi, from Kyubi no kitsune (九尾の狐, fox with nine tails))

Voiced by: Ryōko Nagata (Japanese); Melissa Hutchison (English)

A nine-tailed fox (九尾狐, kyūbiko) Yo-kai of the Mysterious tribe who figuratively steals women's hearts through his charm. In his "Mini Corner" segments, he attempts to steal Katie's heart by transforming into a charming boy, but she proves to be immune to his charms and it seems that he is the one falling for her. Nate later meets Kyubi in episode 31.

Roughraff / Gurerurin (グレるりん, from gureru (グレる, "to turn delinquent"))  

Voiced by: Naoki Bandō (Japanese); Brent Pendergrass (English)

A gremlin (グレムリン, guremurin)/lizard Yo-kai of the Tough tribe, who has a large pompadour. He has the ability to bring out rudeness in people he possesses, turning Eddie into a delinquent and Jibanyan into Baddinyan. He is ultimately impressed by Manjimutt's fighting skills, ending his reign of terror in the town and befriending Nate.

Manjimutt / Jinmenken (じんめん犬, lit. "human-faced dog")

Voiced by: Naoki Bandō (Japanese); Paul Greenberg (English)

An dog Yo-kai of the Eerie tribe who was once a human salaryman until he got drunk one night and died alongside a toy poodle after being crushed by several boards. Due to the circumstances of his death, he can be seen by people without a Yo-kai Watch. His resemblance to a human gets him in trouble with the police after he is found urinating in publi and then claims to be a dog. Manjimutt has his own segments in some episodes, often starting a new job only to be arrested for troublemaking. These have included owning a high fashion salon for dogs, photography, baking, pottery, going to Hollywood, and becoming a movie superhero. However, he is arrested and imprisoned on Alcatraz, where he plots his escape.

Hovernyan / Fuyunyan (フユニャン, from fuyūrei (浮遊霊, "wandering ghost"))

Voiced by: Yuki Kaji (Japanese); Johnny Yong Bosch (English)

A cat Yo-kai of the Brave tribe who is Nathaniel's friend. When he powers up, he transforms into Darknyan of the Eerie tribe.

Lord Enma / Great King Enma (エンマ大王, Enma Daiō)

Voiced by: Ryōhei Kimura (Japanese); Meyer DeLeeuw (English)

A humanoid Yo-kai of the Enma tribe who is the leader of the Yo-kai World and seeks to unite it and the human world. Yo-kai Watch: Forever Friends reveals that he is the reincarnation of Yasha Enma, who was born when Ancient Enma's son Shien fused with the soul of a human boy, Alistair, and sacrificed himself to defeat Overseer.

Zazel / Nurarihyon (ぬらりひょん)

Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu

A Yo-kai of the Shady tribe who is the head of the Yo-kai Council, with Aristokat and Duke Doggy working for him, and Lord Enma's right-hand man. He formerly served under Ancient Enma, who influenced his mindset and caused him to be a misanthrope, until he sees the error of his ways.

Sergeant Burly / Captain Bully (ブリー隊長, Burī-taichō, from Birī-taichō (ビリー隊長, a nickname for Billy Blanks))

Voiced by: motsu (Japanese); Brent Pendergrass (English)

A humanoid Oni Yo-kai of the Brave tribe who is obsessed with exercise, putting people and Yo-kai through "Burly's Boot Camp". He is also one of the performers of the anime's second ending theme. He first appears when he inspirits Whisper to exercise, doing the same thing to Nate and Jibanyan after giving Nate his Yo-kai Medal. He later encounters Nate, and, along with Sergeant Slug, urge him to grow as an individual by confronting Gargaros.

Sighborg Y / Android Yamada (アンドロイド山田, Andoroido Yamada)

A humanoid robot Yo-kai of the Wandroid Tribe.

Koma Knomads / KK Brothers (ＫＫケーケーブラザーズ, Kēkē Burazāzu)

'Merican Yo-kai of the Charming Tribe who are recolored versions of Komasan and Komajiro. Knomad Koma has a girlfriend named Brenda.

Nate's grandfather, who was born in 1943 and is a fan of the character "Moximus Mask." Nate meets him in the past during the events of Yo-kai Watch 2 and the first movie. He created the first Yo-kai Watch so that humans and Yo-kai could interact with each other.

However, during the rocket's final test, Chibi escaped from his cage and caused the rocket to explode, killing him and crushing Dr. Hughly's dreams. Now a Yo-kai, Usapyon tracks him down from the United States to Japan, where he is trying to recover from depression following the explosion. With help from other Yo-kai, Usapyon and Hailey complete a rocket and launch it into the stratosphere. She has him put on the Yo-kai Watch U Prototype to see Usapyon, but he seemingly cannot see him. After Usapyon runs off, realizing he has done his job in inspiring Dr. Hughly, Hailey confronts him on why he lied about being unable to see Usapyon. He reveals that he has been able to see Yo-kai all along, and that Usapyon has successfully inspired him to make a rocket that will go into space, even if he no longer has Chibi.

A boy which appears in the first part of Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daiō to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!. He is downcast because of his struggles at school and decides to end his own life. Nate, as Fuu 2, helps him reaffirm his dreams of being a manga artist.

Kanami Minami (南海カナミ, Minami Kanami)

A mysterious girl from a parallel world who appears in Yo-kai Watch: Soratobu Kujira to Double no Sekai no Daibōken da Nyan!. She was a promising ballet dancer until she was hospitalized after getting hit by a truck, which halted her dreams. To begin dancing again, she summons the Yo-kai Narwail and causes a disruption between her world and Nate's world using its powers, allowing her to dance in Nate's world. Nate prompts her to recover after defeating the whale Yo-kai's second form, Whaleman.

Yo-kai

Spiritual beings based on Japanese mythological spirits and figures. They are divided into eight primary tribes: Brave, Mysterious, Tough, Charming, Heartful, Shady, Eerie, and Slippery, each with their own summoning song that plays when a Yo-kai is summoned. Yo-kai Watch 2 introduces the Wicked Tribe, and Yo-kai Watch 3 introduces a ninth main tribe, Wandroid. With some exceptions, Yo-kai are invisible to humans who do not possess the Yo-kai Watch. However, they can use leaves to disguise themselves as humans. The Yo-kai are listed below based on their numbering in the games' Yo-kai Medallium (as of Yo-kai Watch Blasters: Moon Rabbit Crew), while those with fictional character biographies and casting information have made appearances in the television series. A footman Yo-kai who prefers cleaning over war. They and their leader Washogun appear in episode 50, where they help Nate clean up his house while his parents are away. The Brushidos end up fighting the Messyrai, who were attracted to Jibanyan being messy. Nate leads the Brushido into battle against the Messyrai, resulting in Jibanyan being sent flying through the roof.

Araimashō (アライ魔将, from araimashō (洗いましょう, "let's wash") and "evil commander" (魔将, mashō)) / Washogun

A cleaning shogun Yo-kai who is the evolved form of Brushido. He and the Brushidos appear in episode 50, where they help Nate clean up his house while his parents are away. He and the Brushidos end up fighting the Messyrai, who were attracted to Jibanyan being messy.

After Nate begins using Wazzat selfishly, he realizes he must stop Wazzat from causing any more trouble. When Nate tries to summon Jibanyan, he accidentally summons Manjimutt, whose memories disgust Wazzat. Afterwards, Wazzat gave Nate his medal. In the English dub, Wazzat speaks like Ed Wynn.

A Yo-kai butler who replaces Whisper when he falls ill. While Nate and Jibanyan enjoy Sebastian because he seems superior to Whisper, they soon become overwhelmed by his desire for perfection and welcome Whisper back once he recovers. Verygoodsir later returns, having been assigned to grade Whisper and Jibanyan on their performances, where failure means they spend an eternity as toys.

Tengu (天狗)

The true Tengu Yo-kai, who controls wind. Whisper says that he is friends with such a Yo-kai when he discusses Tengu before Nate meets Tengloom. They soon discover he lied about this, which bothers the real Tengu when they meet him.

In episode 119, he is involved in the Yo-kai World's Yo-1 Grand Prix and places Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan in one of his mazes, but they escape with help from Leadoni.

A water Yo-kai who is a recolored version of Dromp. He causes people to have a heart as big as the ocean. He appears in episode 79, where he and Roughraff disrupt Nate, Eddie, and Bear's day at the beach.

After failing to find one among Nate's classmates, Nate calls on Shogunyan, who has the dream Baku is looking for.

Obaku-sama (おバク様) / Bakulia

A purple tapir Yo-kai that is the evolved form of Baku.

Haku (ハク, from haku (白, "white") and haku (吐く, "to confess")) / Whapir

A white tapir Yo-kai who is a recolored version of Baku. In Yo-kai Watch 3, she aids Hailey and Usapyon at their Detective Agency.

Ame-onna (雨女, "a woman who causes rain") / Drizzelda

A ghostly Yo-kai with an umbrella on her head. She has the ability to make it rain, regardless of the current forecast.

Bakusoku (ばくそく, from bakusoku (爆速, "very fast") and soku (足, "shoe")) / Nekidspeed

A shoe Yo-kai who makes people run constantly. In episode 37, he appears during a field day and inspirits Aaron Adams into racing against Nate and the other racers, with him ultimately winning.

Kyuntarō (キュン太郎, "Tarō" (太郎) is a common masculine name suffix) / Shmoopie

A Shiba Inu Yo-kai that makes people forgive others and acts ditzy and forgetful. One possesses Katie and causes problems in class when she does things that should get her in trouble, but others forgive her. Nate manages to subdue him when he calls on Manjimutt, but it proves unsuccessful.

A Shiba Inu Yo-kai with heart-shaped ears who is the evolved form of Shmoopie.

Urakyunta (裏キュン太, from ura (裏, "reverse")) / Pookivil

A Yo-kai who is a recolored version of Wantson. He makes people sneak snacks from larger prepared meals, and will not stop until the whole meal is devoured. One possesses Nate's mother when she prepares dinner for the family, but begins eating it before others can. He is defeated when Nate has Hungramps make his mother hungry.

An old man Yo-kai that makes people feel hungry. In life, he brought his granddaughter to a convenience store and bought her a toy charm, but she saw him less as she grew up. When he died, he began haunting the convenience store; however, Nate and Whisper convince him that he should instead try to find his granddaughter. As he is leaving, she, now a high school student, walks by, reminiscing on how her grandfather bought her a toy from the store and still has it on her book bag, making Hungramps happy. Later in the series, he is featured with Grubsnitch as the Eater-type (食い系, kui kei) Yo-kai duo, appearing near food-like Yo-kai: their fear of being consumed is a running gag.

Kuiijii (くいい爺, from kuiiji (食い意地, "gluttony")) / Hungorge

A gluttonous Yo-kai who is the evolved form of Hungramps.

Komejii (こめ爺, from kome (米, "rice")) / Grainpa

An old man Yo-kai with a body made of rice. He is a recolored version of Hungramps.

An easygoing sand Yo-kai who causes people to be honest and laid back. One possesses Eddie on his birthday, nearly ruining the day as he tells his parents he does not want a big party. With help from Komasan, Nate is able to get Sandmeh to have Eddie open up.

Sunao Ōyama (大山砂夫, Ōyama Sunao) / Mister Sandmeh

A humanoid sand Yo-kai resembling an office worker. He is the evolved form of Sandmeh when he is fused with the Sand Suit.

Karakasa-obake (から傘お化け) / Pallysol

Voiced by: Kensuke Satō (Japanese); Melissa Hutchison (English)

A umbrella tsukumogami Classic Yo-kai. Nate discovers him an old house in town along with Boyclops and Lady Longneko. Whisper helps the three regain their ability to scare youth. After they are nearly exorcised, Nate manages to get the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero to work and brings them back.

Karakasa-majin (から傘魔人, from majin (魔人, "demon")) / Scarasol

A demonic Yo-kai who is the fusion of Pallysol and Mad Mountain. It has good offense or defense depending on if its umbrella is closed or open.

Ukiukibi (ウキウキビ, from ukiuki (うきうき, "cheerful") and satōkibi (サトウキビ, "sugar cane")) / Happycane

A Local plant Yo-kai. She and Starrycane represent Okinawa.

A masked blue-skinned Yo-kai who is the evolved form of Lodo and, like him, causes people to lose money. One affects Nate when he goes out to buy a new manga, as he plans on "protecting" the city from money. When Nate summons Manjimutt, Supoor Hero's powers do not work because Manjimutt is already pathetic. He is thwarted when a group of Noko appear and turs his powers into giving people good luck in getting expensive things. Before turning into a Noko, Supoor Hero gives Nate his medal.

Rakutendō (らくてん童, from rakuten (楽天, "optimism") and tendō (天童, "cherub")) / Chippa

A pink-skinned Yo-kai who makes people not worry about things. He is a recolored version of Lodo.

Zashiki-warashi (ざしきわらし, from zashiki-warashi (座敷童子)) / Gnomey

A mischievous Classic Yo-kai who brings joy to the inhabitants of the house that it occupies.

A butterfly Yo-kai who is the fusion of Enerfly and Enefly.

Ageageha (アゲアゲハ, from ageage (アゲアゲ, "high spirits") and ageha (アゲハ, "swallowtail butterfly")) / Peppillon

A butterfly Yo-kai who is a recolored version of Betterfly. It makes people feel mundane activities are exciting and fun. It possesses Nate's parents during their Golden Week plans to see a nearby waterfall. Although Nate feels he should get rid of the it, Whisper convinces him to let his parents enjoy the holiday. However, Peppillon leaves once it starts to rain.

A drum Yo-kai who is the mascot of Taiko no Tatsujin and appears in Yo-kai Watch 2 as a collaboration between Level-5 and Namco.

Gikkuri Otoko (ぎっくり男, from gikkurigoshi (ぎっくり腰, "strained back") and otoko (男, "man")) / Agon

A round-headed Yo-kai who is a recolored version of Payn. He causes people to have slipped discs in their back.

TETSUYA (from tetsuya (徹夜, "all night")) / Wydeawake

A pale-skinned Yo-kai that lies on a cloud and causes people to stay up all night playing video games.

KANTETSU (from kantetsu (完徹, "all nighter")) / Allnyta

A Yo-kai who is the fusion of Wydeawake and Hidabat. In Yo-kai Watch 3, Allnyta is a fusion of Wydeawake and Tengloom.

Kusakuiotoko (草くいおとこ, literally "grass eating man" (草食い男, kusakui otoko) from the Japanese herbivore men (草食系男子, sōshoku-kei danshi) phenomenon) / Herbiboy

A humanoid Yo-kai.

Nikukuiotoko (肉くいおとこ, literally "meat eating man" (肉食い男, nikukui otoko)) / Carniboy

A humanoid Yo-kai that is the fusion of Herbiboy and Blazion.

A mosquito Yo-kai who is the evolved form of Negatibuzz.

Kayukayu (かゆかゆ, from kayui (痒い, "itchy")) / Scritchy

A mosquito Yo-kai that causes those she sucks blood from to itch. She is a recolored version of Moskevil.

Jimmy (ジミー, Jimī, from jimi (地味, "plain" or "simple")) / Dimmy

A shadowy ninja-like Yo-kai who makes people and things simple and subdued. He affects Jibanyan on the day of the classroom visit, which Nate realizes when he calls upon Jibanyan to stop Dazzabel. However, Dimmy does not want to be involved in what is happening and wants to be subdued. Whisper forcibly pushes him into Dazzabel to solve everyone's problems, and then he gives Nate his Yo-kai Medal.

The evolved form of Dimmy.

Kaimu (カイム, from kaimu (皆無, "non-existent")) / Nul

A Yo-kai that makes people give up their belongings to others. One possesses Bear and later causes his belongings to disappear. Nate tries to get Yoink's help at home, but this causes more trouble until Nate has Yoink possess his father and ask his mother for a motorcycle, but he is rebuffed.

Dorobokkun (泥ボックン, from dorobō (泥棒, "thief")) / Gimme

Voiced by: Joey D'Auria

A backpack-headed Yo-kai who causes people to borrow something and then not return it. He is the evolved form of Yoink. Gimme steals things from Nate's room, and when Count Zapaway is summoned, he challenges Gimme to find the remote control. When Gimme gives up on the hardest level, he returns Nate's belonging and gives him his medal. Afterwards, Gimme helps Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan look for the remote control, but they are unaware it is in the refrigerator.

Matenshi (まてんし, from mate (待て, "wait") and tenshi (天使, "angel")) / K'mon-K'mon

Voiced by: Kiyono Yasuno

An impatient Yo-kai who Nate and Whisper meet when traveling to the Yo-kai World to get the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero. He becomes impatient when the line is not moving and causes a commotion, leading Nate to summon Jibanyan to fight him.

Hitomakasennin (ひとまか仙人, from hitomakase (人任せ, "leave it to others") and sennin (仙人, "mountain man")) / Yoodooit

An elderly Yo-kai riding a red flying pillow who causes people to give up on tasks and have others do it for them. One possesses Lily while she is doing household chores, leaving Nate to take care of everything himself.

Rimokonkakushi (りもこんかくし, from rimokon (リモコン, "remote control") and kakushi (隠し, "hidden")) / Count Zapaway

Voiced by: Tadashi Miyazawa (Japanese); Brent Pendergrass (English)

A remote control Yo-kai in a vampire cape who hides remote controls. One appears in Nate's house as he and Jibanyan are planning to watch a sports event. They search through each level for the remote control until Aaron Adams tells them the old-fashioned way of turning on the television. Upon being defeated, Count Zapaway surrenders the remote and gives Nate his Yo-kai Medal. He was later summoned by Nate to deal with Gimme, and Count Zapaway puts Gimme through each level to find the remote. After going through the hardest level, Gimme surrenders. Afterwards, Count Zapaway has Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, and Gimme continue looking for the remote, but they are unaware that Count Zapaway hid it in the refrigerator. In the English dub, Count Zapaway speaks like Bela Lugosi.

Jikochū (ジコチュウ, from jikochū (自己中, "selfishness") and chū (チュウ, "mouse")) / Tyrat

A mouse Yo-kai who wears a crown.

When they point out that Nate has inserted a Yo-kai Medal into his Yo-kai Watch incorrectly, he thanks them and it causes them to have a change of heart. One holds out his hand in gratitude, but he is drawn into the Yo-kai Watch to remind Nate if he puts a Medal in backwards, while the other two pass on to the other side.

A Yo-kai based on the Japanese urban legend of Hanako-san. She hits a writer's block after realizing she does not scare children anymore and is treated more like a school attraction. After being advised by Nate to widen her grounds, she starts spooking kids and people outside of toilets, even making her way to people's homes through cursed DVDs. This helps her regain her confidence, and she eventually becomes a Yo-kai Producer who acts as other Yo-kai's agent to help promote their fame.

Hanako Noroino (呪野花子, Noroino Hanako, from noroi (呪い, "curse")) / Foiletta

A Yo-kai who is the evolved form of Toiletta when she is fused with a Cursed Journal.

Nobosetonman (のぼせトンマン, from nobose (逆上せ, "hot flash") and ton (豚, "pig")) / Sproink

A large pig-like Yo-kai who lives in an onsen. He makes the bathwaters boiling hot, preventing people from enjoying their bath. He is defeated when Mr. Batham turns the hot water on, as the current water temperature was not warm enough for him.

When Nate brings Cricky to the chiropractic center, he sees his owner is still hard at work with customers and begins to watch over her again, bringing in more customers using his abilities.

In an attempt to "forget" his past trauma, he summons Dummkap, who manages to make Flushback forget his own past trauma.

Shikirunja (しきるん蛇, from shikiru (仕切る, "to divide") and ja (蛇, "snake")) / Copperled

A red snake Yo-kai who causes people to take charge of anything. He appears in episode 60, where he makes Eddie take charge of things. When Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan chase after Copperled, he Inspirits Katie and causes Nate to envision a fantasy with her. This creeps out both Copperled and Katie, as they both leave and Copperled leaves Nate his medal.

Legendary Yo-kai (レジェンド妖怪, Rejendo Yōkai, "Legend Yo-kai") are powerful Yo-kai acquired after unlocking the seals on a particular page in the Yo-kai Medallium by befriending certain Yo-kai. The Legendary Yo-kai introduced in Yo-kai Watch (Shogunyan, Komashura, Dandoodle, Elder Bloom, and Gilgaros) resemble other Yo-kai and can also be classified into the other tribes. A Legendary human-faced poodle Yo-kai of the Eerie Tribe who was born in a similar manner to Manjimutt, being a young businessman who died in a freak accident near a toy poodle. He also has an aura that makes people, Yo-kai, and even insects and inanimate objects become handsome.

Hanasakajii (花さか爺, from hana (花, "flower") and bloom (咲く, "to bloom")) / Elder Bloom

A Legendary elderly Yo-kai who seeks to spread cherry blossoms. He is a recolored version of Hungramps with a cherry blossom motif. In the anime, Nate encounters Elder Bloom when his class goes into the mountains to plant trees, and Elder Bloom is worried that their trees will outcrowd the cherry trees in the area. After helping Elder Bloom, Nate gets his Yo-kai Medal.

Yamabuki Oni (山吹鬼, from yamabuki-iro (山吹色, "golden yellow")) / Gilgaros

A Legendary oni Yo-kai of the Tough Tribe who is the strongest oni ever born. He is a recolored version of the Oni (Gargaros, Ogralus, and Orcanos). He first meets Nate and Tomnyan in episode 155.

In the anime, Nate meets Spoilerina when she attempts to spoil a movie that he was going to see. Nate finally gets her to stop with the help of Wazzat making him forget her spoilers, but she defeats him before it can work. Nate manages to avoid Spoilerina long enough for her to give him her Yo-kai Medal. Episode 127 reveals that when she was alive, Spoilerina was novelist Rina Haruno, who was notorious for spoiling her own novels. At a press conference about a movie adaption of one of her books, her publisher's editors, knowing of her unprofessional behavior, deactivated the electricity within the event wall. As Rina stood on the table in an attempt to spoil her movie, she fell and died, becoming Spoilerina

However, Poofessor reveals he is a Legendary Yo-kai as he eats the poop on his wand to reveal his true form as Whisper and Nate discover the true meaning of his name

He apologizes to Nate as he surrenders his 'Merican Medal and flies off, only for his story and his Medal to be exposed as a fraud.

'Merican Legendary Yo-kai

The 'Merican Legendary Yo-kai are a set of Legendary Yo-kai that come from America. Half of the 'Merican Legendary Yo-kai debuted in Yo-kai Watch 3: Sushi and Yo-kai Watch 3: Tempura. In Yo-kai Watch 3: Sukiyaki, the remaining four 'Merican Legendary Yo-kai are introduced to complete the set.

Kirakoma (キラコマ, Kirakoma) / Koma Star

A 'Merican Legendary komainu Yo-kai of the Mysterious tribe. He is a recolored version of Komashura who wears a scarf and has stars across his body.

Platinum Oni (プラチナ鬼, Purachina Oni) / Platinos

A 'Merican Legendary oni Yo-kai of the Tough tribe. He is a recolored and redesigned version of Gilgaros with silver skin who has one horn and wears an afro.

A 'Merican Legendary bear Yo-kai of the Shady tribe. He is a recolored version of Poofessor with blue fur who wears a bird nest with a white bird in it and a toga and carries a maroon dictionary.

Gentlemenken (ジェントル面犬, Jentorumenken) / Gentlemutt

A 'Merican Legendary man-faced poodle Yo-kai of the Eerie Tribe who resembles Manjimutt and Dandoodle, but wearing a top hat and monocle and a white collar and black bowtie. Unlike Manjimutt and Dandoodle, he is the size of a normal poodle.

Jimanhattan (自慢ハッタン, Jimanhattan) /  City Licker

A 'Merican Legendary snake Yo-kai with eight tongues. He is a recolored version of Slurpent with skyscraper-like structures on top of his head and a lightbulb-tipped tail.

Mister Movien (ミスタームービーン, Misutā Mūbīn) / Directator

A film director Yo-kai of the Mysterious Tribe who traps Nate, Whisper, Jibanyan, Komasan, and Kyubi in a recreation of Journey to the West, and later casts Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan in a recreation of Titanic. He later appears in side quests in Psychic Specters.

Sergeant Slug (ナメクジ軍曹, Namekuji-gunsō)

A slug Yo-kai who is Sergeant Burly's assistant.

Mr. Goodsight

A Yo-kai disguised as a human who upgrades the player's Yokai Watch after completing sidequests.

Fu (フウ, Fū)

A Yo-kai who is Nate's boss as Fuu 2. He appears in Yo-kai Watch: Enma Daiō to Itsutsu no Monogatari da Nyan!.
