Back in November 2021, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed that a “Top Secret” Marvel project was in development with Scarlett Johansson that’s unrelated to Black Widow.
Feige teased the news when Scarlett Johansson became the 35th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award. Feige praised Johansson for her “talent,” “vision,” intelligence and savvy, both as an actress and a producer and also mentioned the “top secret” Marvel project which Johansson will serve as a producer. “We are already working with Scarlett on another non-Black Widow related top-secret Marvel Studios project with her as a producer. Scarlett is one of the most talented, versatile and beloved actors of our time. It has truly been a pleasure to work with someone of her caliber. From those epic training sessions preparing for the hallway fight in Iron Man 2, to the around-the-world press tour in Avengers: Endgame to partnering with you as a producer on Black Widow, working with you Scarlett has truly been one of the most memorable and rewarding collaborations of my career.”
No other details were provided about the project but last summer Johansson shared that the project was still in development but paused due to the writer’s strike.
Recently, a new piece of information seems to indicate the project is a series for Disney+. The news comes from NexusPointNews, which reports Courtney Baker, a creative executive at Marvel Studios, has added this to her LinkedIn profile “Serve as an executive on the upcoming TV project Untitled Scarlett Johansson series for Disney+.”
A title, release date or further details have not been shared at this time.
