The first trailer for Captain America: Civil War has finally been revealed, and some eagle-eyed fans have made an interesting observation about one of the MCU's most beloved characters.

Scarlett Johansson's stealth spy Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, has debuted another new hairstyle.

Out go the wavey red locks from Avengers: Age of Ultron, in comes a darker colour and Farrah Fawcett '70s era flick.

Black Widow's changing looks can be seen in the image above, spanning from her debut in Iron Man 2 and ticking off all the Captain America and Avengers movies since.

Directors Jon Favreau, Joss Whedon and Joe Russo and Anthony Russo must have very specific views on how they want Natasha to look.

Or, more likely, Black Widow's status as a covert agent for peacekeeping force SHIELD has led her to switch up her looks to avoid detection.

The general reaction from social media on the new look? (Mostly) very positive:

Captain America: Civil War will open in UK cinemas on April 29, 2016 and May 6, 2016 in the US. Watch the trailer below:
