Rupert Murdoch ordered his propaganda machine, News Corp, to defend paedophile George Pell as a person wrongfully convicted not because Murdoch thinks Pell is innocent but because of the financial benefits in doing so. What people don’t realise and what is rarely reported is Murdoch’s close financial ties to the church and Christian leadership and in this article, we have a close look at that relationship and how it influences what News Corp report or more actually put, the propaganda they distribute via their media.

For starters, Murdoch was awarded a papal knighthood from Pope John Paul II in 1998 which reportedly disgusted many Christians given Murdoch is well-known as a “purveyor of newspaper sex, scandal and nudity”. (Click here to read more)

Murdoch in Australia, the UK and the US has deliberately targeted Christians to become readers of his papers and viewers of his TV such as Sky News in Australia and Fox in the US. We know this because of Murdoch’s close relationship with the catholic church, Billy Graham and because George Pell was previously a regular columnist for News Corp’s Australian papers. Also, Murdoch’s News Corp has had a continual attack on journalists who have written about Pell and also the attacks by Murdoch’s journalists on the Child Abuse Royal Commission and child abuse survivors.

Below is a video of Rupert Murdoch in 1998 and his then wife Anna being awarded papal honours and being made a Knight and Dame of St. Gregory.

AP reported in 1998: Media mogul Rupert Murdoch joined dozens of prominent Southern California Catholics who were awarded a papal knighthood on Sunday for their contributions to church institutions.

Cardinal Roger Mahony inducted about 60 people into the Order of St. Gregory the Great – men were installed as Knights of St. Gregory while women were named Dames of St. Gregory, the female equivalent of a knighthood.

Murdoch and his wife, Anna, both smiled as Mahony presented them with a cross medallion, the emblem of the Order of St. Gregory the Great.

Actor Ricardo Montalban, who starred in the 1970s television series “Fantasy Island” was among those receiving the honour.

The pope bestows the honour on those with “unblemished character” who have promoted the interest of society, the Catholic Church and the Vatican.

The church has however received criticism from some quarters for Murdoch’s inclusion on the honour list.

The non-Catholic chairman of News Corporation is best known as the newspaper owner who features topless women in his British tabloids.

It looks like Rupert Murdoch paid a bribe to get his papal knighthood by donating to the church. This would be consistent with reports in 2012 that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s priest fixed papal knighthoods for cash. (Click here to read more)

It says this on Wikipedia: In 1967 Murdoch married Anna Maria Torv (Tõrv), a Scottish born cadet journalist working for his Sydney newspaper The Daily Telegraph. In January 1998, 3 months before the announcement of his separation from Anna, a Roman Catholic, Murdoch was made a Knight Commander of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great (KSG), a papal honour awarded by Pope John Paul II. Rupert Murdoch and Billy Graham

Rupert Murdoch helped promote Billy Graham’s preaching since at least the 1980’s for the financial benefits it brought. Graham was a televangelist and ran a variety of media and publishing outlets.

Graham had a relationship with American presidents from Harry Truman to George W. Bush. He played golf with John F. Kennedy, skinny-dipped in the White House pool with Lyndon Johnson, counselled the Clintons after the Monica Lewinsky affair, and prayed with Barack Obama. (Click here to read more)

The close relationship between politicians and the church is designed for the politicians to get votes. In return the churches in Australia get tax-free status and in times of need politicians such as former Prime Ministers John Howard and Tony Abbott have even come out publicly and supported convicted paedophile George Pell who had previously used the church to support their Prime Ministerships. Murdoch’s involvement with the church is to try to attract more readers and viewers for his media companies which in turn also allows Murdoch more political influence.

NEWSMAX.COM reported in 2013: Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch has joined the list of celebrities who will be attending evangelist Billy Graham’s 95th private birthday party Thursday night, The Charlotte Observer reports.

The pair have had a close bond going back at least three decades, and in 1984, the Australian-born billionaire even agreed to spread Graham’s powerful message through his news empire. (Click here to read more)

Andrew Bolt and Co at News Corp

Murdoch has been in a full throttle defence of Pell for years with an example being in 2015 one of News Corp propagandists wrote “CARDINAL George Pell is the victim of a modern-day witch-hunt. As a social conservative, Pell has a number of opponents within the Catholic Church. But his main attackers are presenters and journalists employed by the ABC and certain other outlets who rarely, if ever, allow an alternative voice to be heard.” (Click here to read more)

The story shows that News Corp has been running the “Pell is a victim” lies for years to try and keep him out of jail and protect the church.

People mistake the journalists and columnists, such as Andrew Bolt, at News Corp who are defending Pell as having their own opinion and that they really believing Pell is innocent. The reality is Bolt and the others don’t publish their own opinions. They are just acting on Murdoch’s instructions and spewing out his lying propaganda for the $100,000’s that Murdoch pays them.

Which brings us to the bottom line which is Murdoch and his puppets such as Bolt are so morally and ethically bankrupt, they will defend convicted paedophiles such as Pell if there is a dollar to be made.

I also understand Pell was a regular columnist for Murdoch papers for years which means News Corp had a paedophile telling lies to their readers defending paedophiles at the church. If anyone has any copies of Pell’s old stories in News Corp papers, please put a link in the comment section below. Did Pell use his articles in News Corp papers to try to cover-up for paedophiles in the church? And does that make News Corp liable in any way?

News Corp under attack

Rupert Murdoch directs News Corp and their propagandists such as Bolt to use the same tactics that they are in defending George Pell on many issues. Their game plan is to continually tells lies, spread the lies widely, attack other media and journalists and try to intimidate and influence politicians. But that tactic is under huge pressure and starting to fail in a big way as the internet truth train strikes back.

To prove the point there is a Twitter account called Sleeping Giants Oz who campaign against News Corp papers and their TV, Sky News, regularly targeting their advertisers to stop advertising when News Corp and/or Sky News publish stories with their many lies. In recent times Andrew Blot, as he in known on social media, and other News Corp propagandists have been using their papers and Sky News to attack Sleeping Giants Oz and threatening News Corp advertisers who dare to leave News Corp because of the Sleeping Giants Oz campaign against them.

This is a major multi-$billion media company, News Corp, using substantial resources to attack one Twitter account. It shows that Sleeping Giants Oz is obviously doing damage and that no one should underestimate social media users and the power they have.

The George Pell battle isn’t over yet for Rupert Murdoch as he directs his propagandists to try to influence the courts and steam roll abuse survivors right up until Pell’s appeal and beyond.
