SOUTH BEND - Jadwiga "Harriet" Ksiezopolski, 92, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Harriet was born October 1, 1921, in Dzierzby, Poland, to the late Peter and Josephine (Lukasiak) Polak.

Harriet married Joseph Ksiezopolski; he preceded her in death on May 14, 1979. Harriet was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanine Marchel.

Survivors include a son, Edwin (Esther) Ksiezopolski of Granger; granddaughter, Susan (Richard) Moore, and grandson, Kevin (Emily) Ksiezopolski, both of Granger; and great-grandchildren, Megan, Natalie, Max & Kate.

Harriet retired in 1976 from Notre Dame after 25 years of service; she was a food supervisor in the North Dining Hall where she was a very hard worker. Harriett was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and a member of the Harvest House. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and cooking. Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
