The SAINT GEORGE GARDEN is in the traditional Saint George of Pagi village on the north part of Corfu, in an idyllic peaceful beach location on the coast of Corfu. The hotel is a new built palace with modern and design touches in the middle of gardens, olive groves and wild vegetation. The hotel offers two swimming pools (a normal and one small for children).

Saint George Palace garners praise for its attentive service, though occasional lapses and rudeness are noted. Its vibrant atmosphere, with music and dance, is a hit, even if some find the entertainment repetitive. Opinions on value are split, with some guests appreciating affordability while others are left wanting better quality. The hotel's pools and beach proximity are popular, despite some desires for longer drink service and varied entertainment. While rooms are typically clean and spacious, critiques include outdated decor and some cleanliness issues. The location is appreciated for its convenience, but not always as tranquil as expected.

We arrived early afternoon and was told that our room was ready, which was great to hear as there is nothing worse than getting to your hotel and then having to wait around. First impressions of the room were good, decent size main room and large double bed, we off loaded the cases in the room and went down to get a drink.
On returning to the room we started to see a few things that’s were not quite right
The fan in the shower/toilet developed a noise that can only be described as a motorbike, the toilet was filling so slowly that you could only flush it once every Few hours, the shower door handle came off in my hand and the shower itself was a joke, it was like standing under a blocked up watering can, after the shower I went to take the towel from the rail and that came off the wall. I went to reception and reported the issues and although I was not convinced they said they would send someone to sort the problems.
As far as we could tell nobody came that day so we met with the jet2 rep the following morning and told her of the problems which now included a bed that creaked so much that if you moved in the night you would wake your partner
The rep informed the hotel again and said that if we were still not happy we could move rooms the following day
Someone did go to the room whilst we were out as the towel rail had been fixed but the toilet , fan and bed were still as before the shower was a little better but we think this was down to not showering when everybody else did
I returned to the reception and told them the toilet and bed which were the main issues were still not repaired and they did seem confused as they had sent maintenance to the room, they returned again fixed the toilet and screwed the wooden base of the bed, the toilet remained in working order but the bed still creaked and fan intermittently still sounded like a motorbike.
We did not move rooms as we had unpacked and just did not want the hassle, in hindsight we possibly should have
The pool area was overall clean, there is decking around one side of the pool which did break but was fixed within a couple of hours
I was up early almost every morning and on the few days we spent around the pool I was normally one of the first to be sat on the sun beds, Most days you could go to the pool at even 11:00am and still get beds.
During the last few days we were temperature checked before entering the restaurant the food was varied and there was something that appealed every time we went, I agree with other reviews that said the food was not hot, I would not say it was cold though
All the hotels we have stayed in had labels telling you what the food was but you had to ask the serving staff if you were unsure here
The staff are a credit to the hotel and were overall friendly and attentive they are working in hot environments In difficult times with face masks Always being worn
In my opinion this is not a 4 star hotel but with a bit of maintenance could be
But as the saying goes you get what you pay for we didn’t pay a 4 star price so should not have been disappointed when we didn’t get one
Would I return to this hotel, possibly not, would I advise others not to go to this hotel no, but what I would say is, if you think the price is cheap for a 4 star hotel then maybe it is not a 4 star hotel

Dear Simon,  Thank you for the feedback of your stay in our Hotel  and that  you were satisfied  with our staff! Although  it  is completely strange  and difficult for this year due to COVID-19 precautions they have succeeded in their services. St George Palace Hotel is a 4* hotel grant by Greek National Tourism Organization ,it is  located  in an idyllic peaceful beach and near the traditional Saint George of Pagi village. On the distance of 150 meter of a pathway is the most beautiful sandy beach of Corfu with crystal clear waters across 3 km bay. Regardless of accommodation   the hotel offers various price packages for each room type and each booking provider. What is included in each offer is described in details both in the various media and in confirmation of the reservation.  Concerning  the All Inclusive food and drinks we are continually trying to improve the variety and quality of food items. For us the quality is very important and we are proud of it I apologize you did not find Labels description the time you  were staying with us. I assure you that  we do use them  every day .   I hope that I can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. Please reach out to me directly at stgeorgepalacecfu@gmail.com    Kind regards Spiros Manager

We stayed for 9 nights in August. The good points, beautiful beach (5 mins walk), beautiful location with views of the hills, communal areas were clean, superior room was lovely, hard working staff (the young people in restaurant clearing tables never stopped), in the restaurant the tables were spaced out for social distancing, the restaurant is open on three sides, staff all wore masks and gloves, it was buffet service, but you had to point at the food you liked (from a safe distance) and staff served you (this felt safe) the food was very tasty (but never hot).
There are plenty of areas where things need to improve - some of the guests from Russia and Eastern Europe did not social distance (covid) and ruined it for everyone. Perhaps the hotel can hand out an information sheet for guests when they arrive, to explain social distancing? I had to ask many people to move away from me in the queues for food and drinks. The queues at meal times were way too long, you have to arrive 10 mins before the restaurant opens. If you get your food first, the drinks queue is massive. So you have to leave your food and let it go cold, or have no drinks. On many occasions we had no drinks or sent our young child to get them while we queued for food. Most of the food was warm (never hot) but some of the food was cold every single meal time. We didn’t have one hot breakfast, the beans were fridge cold. We are guessing some of the hot plates did not work. We did report this but the same food was cold the next day. The drinks at the bar were in plastic cups, no idea why, not a nice experience. The fire alarm in the room didn’t work, we reported it 3 times. No new battery appeared. The room was cleaned twice, this was not enough, especially when your toilet bin fills daily. There are loads of other things I could mention (which weren’t great) but on the whole we managed the situation, had a good rest and tried to not let the little things bother us.
My last point is that I am not sure the last few reviews below are real, they may be fake. I am giving a balanced account of our stay (probably being on the nice side) and so I can’t believe they’re all genuine... I think the negative covid one is unfair too. I am sure in normal times the hotel is a much better experience, but at the moment, it’s not right and I hope they are able to manage the situation better in the future...we paid a lot of money for our stay, was it worth it... sadly not.

First, I want to thank you for your feedback. In the unprecedented wake of COVID-19, we’re extremely sorry that  your experience with us was not up to what was expected. We pride ourselves in providing quality customer service. Due to COVID-19, there have been certain limitations placed on our business, and our team has had to adapt to many changes.   With all my respect I would like to inform you that we have implemented additional control measures to protect our guests as well as our valuable staff . All our staff work tirelessly to go above and beyond the international germ control standards to guarantee a safe stay in our hotel, so certain services and amenities may be reduced or unavailable as a result.(plastic cups to avoid virus trasmision) In our restaurant the buffet is always ready with a wide variety of starters, salads, main hot dishes and desserts ,with the advantage also of preparing package lunch or breakfast for guests on their daily tours. I would very much appreciate if contact me by email  at stgeorgecfu@gmail.com and discuss all about your review.Sincerely yours . The Manager

Stayed here from 15th-26th September as a last minute change after not being able to go to Spain... What a beautiful hotel! Transfer takes around 90 mins from Corfu airport, upon arrival check in was quick, paid tourist tax of €3 per night per room, had our temperature checked then went to the room(222). The rooms are basic but clean, no tea or coffee making facility but we knew this and took a travel kettle,tv has limited channels but we didnt go away to watch tv, the shower was small but hot. We had 1 pillow each but next morning asked reception for more and they were brought straight away. We had seen mixed reviews about the food but we had no issues, the staff serve the food for you, you just point to what you want... And they arent shy with portions! We had also seen reviews saying staff were miserable.. We found all the staff professional and polite, especially George, Doni and the man who served drinks(sorry i dont know his name!) the pool bar served 4 cocktails, beer, wine and coffee(Spiros on the bar was so polite). The beach is a 5-10 min walk(uphill on the way back) with shops and restaurants on the beach front. At the bottom of the steps from the hotel is a shop and coffee shop and the Butterfly Bar where you can get the nicest cocktails i have tasted! We met some lovely people and had a relaxing time away from home, would we visit again? Definately! Thank you Saint George Palace for a wonderful time

I appreciated the location of the hotel (5 min by foot to the beach), hotel was clean, not noisy. food at the restaurant was good, tasty, even if not very different from one day to the other.
Unfortunately, the staff at the restaurant was outnumbered: at peak hours (noon, or 9p.m.) when most of the people came to eat, there were long cues outside, waiting for each person to get the food from the waiters. trays with food went empty very quickly and not easily replaced. If you come to eat at rush hours, be prepared to wait in line for 30 min or so.
Also, personnel at the reception was not prepared to transfer our requests to the cleaning staff: I have asked for shower gel and they forgot to refill it in our room. I told the receptionist that the ventilator in the bathroom was out of order and, even if they wrote down my complaint, nobody came to fix it.
In the bathroom was a very bad sewage smell and if you took a shower, the steams remained there unless you let the door open for ventilation.
Also, there were no nets in the window/balcony door to prevent mosquitoes entering the room: mosquitoes on this island are very aggressive and, if you sleep with the balcony door opened (as it is hot) you will get lots of bites. no protection from the hotel against them.

Whilst I totally accept these are very challenging times for hoteliers, this hotel I feel falls significantly short of its **** status. In its current state it would struggle to scrape a 3 star at very most. The grounds are where it gains points as they are clean and the views of the hills and st George bay are very pleasant.Regrettably It appears to be overcrowded currently accommodating holidaymakers redirected from Turkey and it feels like they’ve bitten off far more than they can chew. When I say ‘overcrowded’ it simply felt down to the hotels basic lack of suitable amenities. Sunbeds were in a state of disrepair and not enough. No fitness room. Queues for drinks on an evening drove us to buy our own from the local shop. One small dining room where everyone is on top of each other. On the first morning I queued for an ‘orange juice’ only to be served up what looked and tasted like overage ‘sunny D’. Apple juice equally indistinguishable from the actual fruit . Meal times are regimented in terms of having your lukewarm food put onto your plate by hotel staff, understandable of course but it would have been nice as a newcomer to have been told about this particular ‘etiquette’ as opposed to a rather rude member of the dining staff barking at me in no uncertain terms that I was to “TOUCH NOTHING!! Including salt sachets. All too often it’s pretty cold by the time you get to your seat. Food of poor choice and quality. I didn’t see what I would call ‘traditional’ Greek food during our stay and as a lover of Greek food this was another let down. The choice and quality of drinks at the pool bar also fell way short of a 4 star establishment (fresh juice, tonic etc) Our room was clean however and apart from a shower that failed to drain and a shower head that didn’t fit the bracket, and so had to be hand held, was suitable but just lacked what you would have hoped and expected from a 4 star hotel. It just felt overall like what could have been a pleasant 2/3 star hotel that is probably only used to getting partially full all of a sudden has taken an opportunity to fill up, very quickly and it’s shortcomings have all become all too obvious. It sadly feels a hotel currently way, way out of its depth.

Arrived at the hotel September 7th to a great welcoming from reception, checked in and was put in room 224 1st floor near the fountain. Through the night the fountain kept us up as it was running all day and night. The next day I asked to be moved and was put in room number 5, a ground floor cottage with a private infinity pool and it was really nice and really clean, and was very happy how the reception dealt with the complaint and they couldn’t do enough. The food is not that pleasant especially the warm food so I stuck to Greek salad feta cheese and chips. Tried the bread and it nearly broke my teeth!! The drinks are watered down without a doubt but you get what you pay for.

The restaurant manager and the man who serves drinks are extremely rude and grumpy.

Stunning views, fantastic staff apart from the 2 above!! There is not much to do around the area on an evening but there is 2 lovely restaurants 1 on the marina and 1 further on, I would advise to eat there it’s lovely food and cheap enough. There is also a burger bar at the bottom of the hotel a lot of the hotel staff eat there says how good the food is in the hotel. 5 euro for the burger it’s well worth the money

Firstly the hotel is set in a lovely location and the staff are excellent, the hotel only has one restaurant and we expected some traditional Greek food, the live entertainment is none existent so far even on a Saturday night. Be prepared for smelling sewage if wind is in wrong direction, not enough sun beds, the bar only has 4 different cocktails and you would have to drown yourself before you felt like you were getting merry, The rooms do not have coffee or tea making facilities no soft drinks in fridge. The rooms are only cleaned every three days this includes towels and sheets etc, toilet paper has to be put in a bin for three days before they are emptied, problems in room beware of shower doors ours fell off and another shattered injuring the guest. We have been to several 4 star hotels but the facilities this one provides in our opinion only amount to barely a three star.
One good thing is just down hill towards beach there is a cocktail bar with music and a nice atmosphere.
Pool towels not provided unless you pay a deposit

Dear Bob, We would like to thank you for staying with us in our St George Palace Hotel . It is with our pleasure to receive your detailed review. We are happy to be aware of your feelings as this helps us specify our weak points and try to improve. It is indeed a very strange period for all of us with COVID-19. What was planned for this season regarding activities in the hotel, as well as the limited number of sunbeds and objects in the room has nothing to do with what is finally happening. Most of the planned activities are prohibited. Also due to the fear of the disease, a big number of people are not willing to work. This makes things even more difficult. We do not mention it as an excuse, but we feel that it has to be mentioned so you are also aware of it. Our top priority is safety & wellbeing of guests and staff  and we are more than ready to welcome you  following strictly the Government’s guidelines. St George Palace hotel  is taking the wellbeing and safety of its visitors and staff very seriously in these times of Covid-19, systematically applying hygiene measures (social distancing markers, hand sanitizers everywhere, staff wearing face masks, temperature check in the main entrance, ) Moreover ,Covid-19 guidelines are published on our website www.stgeorgepalace.com plan and are available also on Tripadvisor.   Once more thank you for spending your holidays with us and we hope to have the chance to offer you a more pleasant stay in future.  Spyros CEO

Stayed here from 30th September to 7th October and it was incredible :) from the start to end was flawless without a single problem. Everywhere from around the pool to bedroom was cleaned regularly and to high standard! The breakfast and dinner choices were really good and lots of options and all the food was really nice to eat. When entering the restaurant you are temperature checked which is really good. The pools were really nice and clean too. Overall the stay was incredible and credit to all staff that work there who constantly where cleaning tables running reception looking after the busy bar areas alone so high credits to them :) from the main reception you can hire cars bikes and quad bikes with insurance which were really handy to us when wanting to visit the other towns surrounding I would 100% recommend hiring one of them.
The hotel is really close to the beach and if you don’t fancy the walk they offer a shuttle bus! near the hotel is many bars resturants and shops so it is in a very good location on more of a quieter town.
As mentioned it’s an amazing place to stay don’t let any bad reviews put you off as it was one of the best holidays I’ve had and will most definitely be recommending to all of my friends and family and I will be staying here again 100% ( just with mosquito repellent this time 😆😆😆 side note: the mosquitos in Corfu are evil so deffo bring some bite relief cream
Amazing hotel with amazing staff, amenities and atmosphere. Only thing I would recommend for my next visit is please can you sell crisps at the main bar as the 5 min walk down to the shop feels like forever ehehe . Thankyou again to all at the hotel :)

What a great effort by all the staff at Saint George Palace in light of the current Covid 19 pandemic. All staff wore masks and regular temperature checks and plent of hand sanitiser helped assure us that they took safety seriously.
The rooms were spotless and all staff from the manager to the cleaner had a constant smile and nothing was too much. We stayed here at the last minute following the cancellation of another holiday due to Covid and how glad we were. The whole place is spotless and meals were more than acceptable with breakfast and the deserts being the highlight.
As echoed in other reviews there have been some people whingeing and moaning but don’t let that put anyone off. The immediate area is lovely and even though we were here in what would normally be ‘closed season’ the weather was great (understandably cool at night’ and all the locals just couldn’t do enough. We hired a car and explored some of the island, what a stunning place. English is spoken very well and there were no problems with anything.
One thing that could be improved would be coffee making facilities but that doesn’t deflect from a wonderful time.
A big thank you to all staff and the people of Corfu - BRILLIANT

If you are looking for a place to relax, read, sunbathe and chill this is the place to go. The hotel is kept very clean which is really important especially with Covid 19 at the moment. Your temperature is taken before every meal and there is hand sanitizer as you walk in, to the restaurant, you are greeted by George the head of the restaurant who explains how the restaurant is run as in they serve you with any of the food on offer, you don’t help yourself to anything, all the staff wear masks and are very helpful and work hard to make the restaurant stay clean and safe. The beach is a 10min walk down hill and maybe a bit longer coming back up hill. There is a free shuttle bus from the hotel to the beach if you prefer. There are some restaurants and bars at the beach but not much else so if you are looking for a more lively holiday this isn’t the place for you.

Hi, I would advise for a transfer to allow at least 2 hours and be prepared for a long trip as ours didn't go directly to the hotel - our driver has dropped off some people in the northern part of Corfu (Sidari area) but I think it might also depend on a company you've booked with and whether your transfer is private or not. Cannot say anything about the taxi but I'd imagine it being quite pricey as fuel prices there are not cheap either.

Just small addition, the roads are narrow and the traffic might be rough. You will drive through the mountains all the time. Personally, I didn't get any pleasure and found boat rental (no license needed) much more exciting (allows to visit several gems in the neighbourhood).
