Vunisea U18 teams and Koro High U16 team through to the National Secondary School 7s tournament

After 85 years of the Deans competition, dreams have come true for 2 boys and girls' team of Vunisea Secondary School and the Koro High School boys U16 team as they have qualified to the National Secondary School 7's competition that will be held on the 25th of this month.

The 3 teams from Vunisea won trophies, $500 each and 2 rugby balls each, but the Vanua relationship between the people of Kadavu and Koro have given the chance for the Koro U16 team to proceed to the Fiji Secondary Schools National 7s tournament.

Suva Grammar School and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School were guests at the Maritime Zone 7s tournament today that was held at the HFC Bank Stadium.

In the 2nd round of competition, the Koro High U16 defeated Vunisea 5-0 and Vunisea thrashed Koro 10-0 in their last game this afternoon.

In the boys U18 grade, Grammar thrashed Vunisea 17-0 and later won their last match against Vunisea 14-12.

In the girl's U18 grade, MGM thrashed Vunisea 14-0 in their first match, and they also defeated Vunisea 14-0 in their second match, while Suva Grammar beat Vunisea 17-0.

In the last round of competition, MGM defeated Vunisea 7-5, Suva Grammar beat Vunisea 14-12.

The Fiji Secondary School Eastern Zone 7s competition will be held tomorrow and the Southern Zone will be held this Saturday.

Both competition will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium.
