- QueenstravelbuffNew York City15,954 contributionsRevolutionary War fort Replica. Tours include A canon Firing.
This place is worth a visit if you are in the Rome, NY area. Its a recreation of Fort Stanwix which was an important Fort and Battle during the revolutionary war and the Ultimate Battle of Saratoga.
One of the tour guides was extra good as she made History fun

I would go back for another event.Written November 13, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bob TBethesda, MD197 contributionsBeers are quite good and the service is friendly and efficient. Dark beers are their strong suit -- OK, it's hard to brew a bad dark beer, but these were above average for brewpub darks. IPAs were, as you'd expect, tasty and some had some interesting wrinkles, such as use of all NY State hops.
>>>> They don't serve food, exactly, but do offer an excellent cheese and pepperoni board that could suffice for a light dinner. - Bville 1085 contributionsWeekend get away. On line reservation was easy to make. Pictures don't fully capture the spacious camping site. Not a big draw back but no water or sewer on site.Written October 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Don ORoanoke, TX43 contributionsThis is a quaint stop to make if you are visiting Rome, NY. It is so nice to see a little bit of Americana preserved. I would not go back to Rome just for this museum, but if you are in Rome, it is a must stop!Written June 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JuneNY1,667 contributionsThis museum is very well organized and covers the main areas of historical interest. There is no charge. It was a good rainy day activity for my friend and I who were staying nearby for a few days.Written August 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heather M26 contributionsWent to watch a film today, were greeted when we came in, bought some popcorn and watched a great movie in a mostly empty theater. Seats were comfortable and good video/sound quality, pleasant experience overall.Written August 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dese2Auburn, NY2,687 contributionsI recommend stopping by this outdoor art display. Take a bit of time to walk the trails. There is a parking area and portable outhouses. The trail was paved and relatively easy to walk. When we were there a woman and two children were visiting. The children were on small bikes.
I really wish there were better descriptions of the art work ; a map to use as you explored the area. And the web page is not that helpful.
But, we easily found the area.
The art was interesting and it was good to see what was there.
Dogs are allowed because there were dog bags and waste receptacles.Written October 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VillagerRickThe Villages, FL1,022 contributionsWe knew we would be in the area, and found there was a play available during our visit so we bought tickets on line. We chose a Sunday afternoon performance (we did not know it was the last performance of the spring). The facility has been here for some time, and while driving there had to double check our gps - the neighborhood did not seem like it would support what we were looking for. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted, and found the folks working the place to be pleasant and welcoming. The play itself was enjoyable, and the performers did a fine job. It seems the majority of patrons are season ticket holders, and if we lived in the area we would be also.Written June 15, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - dese2Auburn, NY2,687 contributionsWe stopped by to see this park and the canal. The web site says the park is open from morning until dusk; city web page. When we arrived the park was indeed open but the building and facilities were closed.
There is paved parking on both sides of the road and a small area to walk along the canal.
There are a few benches and even a couple swinging benches.
There are mooring spaces for canal traffic.
It was a pleasant day but not much to see here.
Parking was free.Written October 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
