Robert C. Caruth, 87, of Wallingford, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 17, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Mary Alice (Dillon) Caruth.
Bob was born June 14, 1933, a son of the late Earl B. and Anna (Kovalic) Caruth and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 35 years of service. His favorite past times were watching the Boston Red Sox, throwing horseshoes, a game of golf and a glass of wine.
In addition to his wife Mary Alice, he is survived by his son, Robert E. Caruth and his wife, Sandi, and his children, Victoria Rogers and Colleen Caruth; his daughter, Juliann Caruth Nuccini and her husband Tony, and their children, Kristen Nuccini and Britney Nuccini; and his daughter Kathy Caruth Popolizio and her husband Mark, and their children, Mark and Christopher Popolizio. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Lucas and Taylor Gratten, and Clarity James Rogers; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, William and Donald Caruth, Virginia Hanson and Dorothy Hogan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 23, at 11 am, directly at Church of the Resurrection, 115 Pond Hill Rd., Wallingford. Interment with military honors will be in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. COVID precautions will be followed and masks required at the services. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. (www.stjude.org).
