That is just trolls on the internet who continue to say that propaganda mess and majority of those trolls are not even black. If black men didn’t like black women there would be no black people
Black men don’t like these black
Women . It has to do with environment factors and classism .
If the study was conducted on middle class black people . The study would show that most middle class black folks are married to each other.

We outnumber Black men by 2 million according to this site:

BlackDemographics.com | Black Women Statistics

giphy.gif

Wow. So it seems the situation is even more dire than I originally thought.

This is something to think about, definitely.

First, even if there were an equal number of black males and black women, the fact that black males marry out more than twice as much as we do would mean there would still be a lot of unmarried black women.

But also, even if black women and black males ONLY married each other, the fact that there are TWO MILLION FEWER black males than black women would mean that there would *drumroll* still be a lot FUCKING TON of unmarried black women.

Either situation is dire independently. But sad the reality is that BOTH apply, which makes it a serious problem for those black women who 1. want to get married, and 2. only want black men. And from what I see, this is the MAJORITY of black women.

This is why it baffles me that some black women--particularly the unmarried NBABMBW and hoteptresses--try to put down those of us black women who don't/didn't exclusively date black men (I say "try to" cause ain't a bitch ALIVE with the ability to make me feel bad about who I married but other folks' self-esteem may vary). We black women who date and ultimately marry interracially are just freeing up more black males for them, right? Less competition! But they've convinced themselves that we're wrong for not being with black men when you THINK they would instead, I don't know...be sending us thank-you cards, bomb-ass wedding and anniversary presents, etc.

Somebody make THAT make sense.

The fact that some of you all are trying to partition the results down from "Black men" to "Black men in a certain demographic" speaks volume about...well, to you.

it represents men who are married, not all black men (majority of who aren't married) also the stat includes older black married couples who came from a time when marriage was more common. what does that mean for bw under 30?

It's census data, so everyone is in there.

This pro black women/white male IR frenzy propaganda in the US media has been an epic failure. How much money have they spent the last 15 years trying to push black women and white men together? Internet, books, television, movies. The dollar amount must be staggering.

All a failure. If only the Russian internet effort to get Trump elected was as incompetent.

I understand these stats but what percentage of black men are married?

These stats only account for married black men and women.

There are more unmarried black men than married black men.

It's not a shock to see most married black men are with black women.

Numbers please

That speaks volumes about critical thinking that some fonts still retain.

It's healthy to question blanket numbers since they can be used to convey any kind of message depending on how they're presented.

Look at LSA statistics come here once again to tickle you guys' brains like the first scratch symptom of a sore throat.

I wonder who is gonna assume that this states that 93% of black men are married

I wonder what percentage of black men polled were cohabiting with others

Ooh so this suggests that black women go to black men less despite factors like education playing a part in their declining marriage rate, prior to consideration of ethnicity of spouse.

Not surprising if you live in the real world and don't get your world view from LSA.

As much as I understand genuine concerns about black males from some fonts, I feel like some of the gender war threads are another example of agents (or bots) just trying to cause discontent between black people.
This...

No it doesn’t. Most Black men don’t marry and 1 in 4 marry out. These stats don’t show the unmarried BM in interracial relationships. Also there’s no age breakdown. Most BM married to BW are older couples. Millennials and Gen Z have higher IR coupling rates.

@Stupor Hero explain the above

That is not what is being done here. People are determined to debunk OP to continue their anti-black male bullshit.

No. All men shout misogyny, but it’s the men of color (especially black men) who, en masse, devalue their own women in favor of women of other ethnicities. What you see as a white man’s hatred of “white women” is just a simple hatred of women, but in white supremacy, white women are the default. All the women are white, all the blacks are men and whatnot.
Saying that white men don’t demean the features of white women isn’t putting wm on a pedestal. They are misogynist, but still value whiteness above all. That’s nothing worthy of applause.

I dont get why people have a hard time acknowledging this happens. I've never had a serious relationship with a black man who thinks badly of black women, BUT I do see black men in the real world devaluing black women simply because we are black.

Research from Howard University shows different

The Top 4 Myths About Black Marriage

Rich Black Men Marry Out
Black men drop black women as soon as they reach a certain level of success, don’t they? While plenty of rap stars, athletes and musicians may choose to date or marry interracially when they achieve fame, the same is not true for the bulk of successful black men. By analyzing census data, Toldson and Marks found that 83 percent of married black men who earned at least $100,000 annually got hitched to black women.

The same is the case for educated black men of all incomes. Eighty-five percent of black male college graduates married black women. Generally, 88 percent of married black men (no matter their income or educational background) have black wives.

That is OLD DATA and includes Black males in all age brackets from 25-77. Again I wanna see data on the last 10-15 years not the last 80

Let's say you have 10 marbles. 7 of those marbles are clear/translucent, 2 are solid black and 1 is solid blue. This means that roughly 67% of the opaque marbles are black, but this does not mean that 67% of ALL the marbles are black. Black marbles only make up 20% of your marbles.

85% of married Black men marry Black women. But out of the entirety of Black men of marriageable age the majority are NOT married.
Fonts have never taken a Statistics course lol

I've been saying for years now that almost every black man that I went to college with, who is married, married a black woman. Like over 90%.

I don't know why some of yall on LSA are so bitter. Yall need to get out more. Maybe black celebs marry out more but in the real world, black men date/marry black women.

I think some of you are just incorrigible and can't get a man of any color. Even your families don't want to deal with you. Hell, the batteries in a sex toy probably immediately die when your bitter asses touch it! YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!

How do some of y'all consistently, CONSISTENTLY look at that infographic and still misunderstand it?

For those of you saying, "just walk outside and you'd see for yourself," okay, let's take a scroll through your contacts.

Do you have ten black men in them? Are eight of them married?

Do you have ten black male co-workers? Are eight of them married?

If you head down to whatever popular park in your city that allows all the brothers to come and wash their car ... will you find eight out of each set of ten of those men married?

No, you will not. Because it's not true.

I mean hey, if it were true, then you'd also know nine out of ten black women that are married, right? Since they're married to your "85% of black men," right?

You might find three out of ten of those men who are married or you can arrange dudes in a certain formation to make eight out of ten, but it is not as simple as "walk out of your house, duh!"

I wonder what happened in the 1970s. Up until then black and white people had generally similar marriage rates cross gender. Crack epidemic? Or wasn't that the 80s?

edit: NVM, just had to keep scrolling.

The dismantling of Black created neighborhoods between 1940-1970 is the main cause. 1950 Highway act and Govt Urban renewal displaced close to a 1000 Black created self sustained neighborhoods up until 1970 AA had a higher marriage rate than Whites for close to 90 years

@Stupor Hero explain the above
Toldson and Marks found that 75 percent of black women marry before they turn age 35 after examining census data from 2005 to 2009. Moreover, black women in small towns have higher marriage rates than white women in urban centers such as New York and Los Angeles, Toldson remarked in the New York Times.

Among black women, 70 percent of college graduates are married by 40, whereas only about 60 percent of black high school graduates are married by that age,” Tara Parker-Pope of the New York Times reported.

The same trend is at play for black men. In 2008, 76 percent of black men with a college degree married by age 40. In contrast, only 63 percent of black men with just a high school diploma tied the knot. So education increases the likelihood of marriage for both African American men and women. Also, Toldson points out that black women with college degrees are more likely to marry than white female high school dropouts.

Just because black women are more likely to graduate from college than their male counterparts doesn’t mean that they out-earn black men. Actually, black men are more likely than black women to bring home at least $75,000 annually. Plus, double the number of black men than women make at least $250,000 annually. Because of pervasive gender gaps in income, black men remain the breadwinners in the African American community.

These numbers indicate that there are more than enough financially successful black men to go around for black women.
