I'm a sucker for action movies set during Christmas. I also love a classic hardboiled neo-noir (think Fargo or Pulp Fiction). Sadly, while this movie promised both, it's contrived, overly-convoluted plot kept this movie from being truly great. Had the creators fleshed out one of their half-baked ideas, maybe I wouldn't have had to suspend my disbelief as often and the twist ending might've had a greater impact.

Too many twists, at first it was awful but then all changes, and then all changes all over again, so I don't know… I guess I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. All things aside the interpretation of Charlize Theron it's mind blowing.

This is a very underrated and much maligned movie that is honestly far better than it's ratings would suggest. There is a scene at the beginning of the movie that should have been cut in my opinion and it does drag a bit in places, especially in the second act but otherwise this is a pretty great movie with witty dialogue between characters. If you've got a couple of hours to spare this is well worth a watch, especially during the holiday season.
