Justice League director Zack Snyder says actor Ray Fisher is the heart of his movie, not just the character Cyborg. Snyder and his cut of Justice League have been a big part of the DC Extended Universe conversation in recent years. Though Snyder's name is still on the movie, he's made it clear the final version of the film wasn't his intended vision. As a result, cries to Release The Snyder Cut continued to grow until last month, when HBO Max announced it would release the movie in 2021. It seems like a slam dunk for the new streaming service, as it will bring in Snyder Cut enthusiasts, as well as those wanting to see what all the fuss is about. However, it will also cost WarnerMedia over $30 million, according to the company's chairman, Bob Greenblatt.

One of the biggest differences between Justice League and the Snyder Cut is Cyborg's story. Cyborg plays a much larger role in Snyder's version, which was cut down after Joss Whedon stepped in. Cyborg's story in Justice League also would have led to a solo film that was supposed to come out this past April. This partly explains why Fisher has been a champion of the Snyder Cut since the beginning. Roughly a year ago, he told fans he would release the Snyder Cut immediately if it were up to him. Fisher has also talked time and time again about how much he enjoyed working with Snyder, even saying he'd like the director to helm the Cyborg solo movie if it happens.

Snyder has made it clear he enjoys working with Fisher as well. Previously, he called Cyborg's story the "heart of the movie." However, now Snyder has taken it a step further, responding to a tweet from Fisher with "You Ray, are the heart of my movie." Though a subtle distinction, it speaks to the importance of Fisher's role in getting the Snyder Cut to where it is today, as well as how the actor influenced Cyborg's story. In fact, Fisher references that in his original tweet, thanking Snyder and co-writer Chris Terrio for letting him give "input on the framing of the Stones before there was even a script."

Snyder's response to Fisher may not reveal anything new about the Snyder Cut of Justice League. However, it does show how much Snyder values those key to both the Snyder Cut's story and its release. Considering how long of a journey it's been for Snyder to bring his vision to life, it makes sense he's grateful to those who championed him from the beginning.

Much of Cyborg's arc in the Snyder Cut of Justice League is already known, thanks to already revealed photos and videos. However, Snyder and Fisher have hopefully teased just enough to make fans excited about Cyborg's role without spoiling everything. Unfortunately, fans will[brightcove_video:] have to wait until next year to see how Cyborg's story unfolds.
