    • Catholic cemeteries and mortuaries

The cherished Catholic Funeral Tradition and burial in consecrated ground among fellow believers is the final expression of our faith as Catholics. It is the sacred right, privilege, and calling of every Catholic. Catholic Cemeteries have played a vital role in Southern California since the Spanish Missions. Today, eleven cemeteries and six mortuaries serve the members of our Archdiocese, each connecting us with our history and Christian ancestry. And because they are a responsibility of the church, Catholic Cemeteries & Mortuaries ensure a high level of care that will endure long after that of cemeteries under private or commercial auspices. Catholic Mortuaries are conveniently located within cemetery grounds, allowing families high-quality, full-service funeral home facilities with a selection of  nearby burial options in sacred spaces.

This holiday was established by Anna Jarvis in 1908 and officially became a national holiday in the US in 1914. Although the dates and celebrations of Mother's Day may vary around the world, it usually involves giving mothers flowers, cards, and other gifts as tokens of appreciation. Let's make the most of this special day to honor the incredible mothers in our lives and demonstrate how much we value and appreciate them. By doing so, we can inspire more people to recognize the extraordinary contribution that mothers make to our world. (more...)
