Will be coming to Quebec City Dec. 19-23. I noticed alot of snow reatived activities do not open until January. What will be open at that time for 13 year old in the snow, ie, ice skating, sledding, etc.? If so, what are some recommendations? Thanks so much!
Normally the free form outdoor skating rink at Place d'Youville should be open as well as the tobogan at the end of Terrasse Dufferin. If you want to do an activity out of town then Village Vacances Val Cartier will be a load of fun for quite a few hours.
Alll the ski slopes around have snowmaking machines thus should be open. The largest, Mont Sainte-Anne, will also offer other activities like snowmobiling and dog sledding depending on natural snow conditions. The great plus with this ski station is that it runs bus shuttles to Old Québec so if you don't have a car or don't want to drive in bad weather it comes in handy.
And, of course, all the Christmas decorations will be up and Rue du Petit-Champlain always try to make it a White Christmas Wonderland.
Thanks for your reply. I looked into Vacances Val Cartier and it said they are closed until next summer. I looked like so much fun, bummer! Will definately take you up on the suggestions! Thanks again!
Don't worry texmiss - the summer activities are closed until next summer, not the Centre itself!!!! The schedule will appear shortly on their website.

Bis repetitam. @Eirelover and Texmiss, all the Witer activities and schedules are there already posted on the VVJC website. Sorry my copy/paste doesn't work so I cannot give you the whole link but just google what I previously wrote, or longer with playground after Winter and you will get there, on the part of the website for winter activities that are starting Dec 16.
