One of the most photogenic streets in Québec City was filled with shops and restaurants. In April there wasn’t much crowds so it was pleasant to stroll through.

There were a couple of unique addresses ending in 1/2 instead of a whole number. We could not figure out how one door qualified as a 1/2 versus others.

To reach the lower town you either take the funicular from the Dufferin terrace for 5 CAD one way/per person (the entrance is located inside the glass square houses right near the statue - don't forget to press on the door to access this area) with the capacity of the funicular of max 6-8 people and going every minute, reaching the old town in 1 minute.

The other option is to walk all the way here, if you have the energy, and immerse yourself in more touristic attractions with lots of over prices cake shops/ice cream shops/nougaterie or restaurants and fashion shops far detached from the French or European fashion though.

Cobbled streets located near the water, the ferry not far from here, a gorgeous piazza with people watching as in the style you find in most of Med countries, if you are fortunate to be here on a sunny day.

Amazing cathedral! We have been to many cathedrals but the ceiling/vault (?_) had a beautiful purplish tint and imparted it such an amazing pious quality that made you truly appreciate that you were in a sacred space. Really impressed my wife and I. Amazing place to visit.

Place Royal is a very quaint little town square with a very noticeable bust of King Louis XIV. It’s easy to feel transported back in time and imagine the bustling market business going on here very close to the Old Port. Today, it’s very quiet, clean, and not crowded.

I love Quebec City! Short flight to experience French cuisine, cobble stone stone streets in one of the oldest cities in North America. And, these French speakers are actually Friendly! Let me not forget to mention the great exchange rate for our dollar.

The defensive capabilities look very significant to me. Most of the structure is not only on top of a hill but buried deep underground. I would think this would give it protection from aerial attacks. The perimeter is also surrounded by a significant moat probably 30 meters wide by 30 meters deep. I would think that this would give it protection from ground assault.

It’s also the place where the battle for everything was lost by the French. The French failed to adequately defend the top of the cliff. Later, on the plains, the French were too hasty to attack and met double musket ball fire from the British. The French lost Canada and everything between the Mississippi and Appalachian

The Parliament Building was very accessible to visitors as long as one brought their official ID and go through security.

There was a free coat check and we grabbed our official tour book from the rack on the opposite side. Only French language tours were available the day of our visit.

Some of the highlights we liked from the tour were the following

Blue Room - I had to turn off my cellphone before being allowed inside.
Le Parlementairo - formal dining room with a beautiful stained glass tunnel entrance
Ocular - in the basement with a view up
    Library

The Red Room was closed for renovations and the guard could not give a timeline.

Politics was not my favorite subject but the exhibits did a good job in explaining Quebec’s system and comparing it to other countries like the US, France and UK.

We learned a lot during our time on site so well worth a visit. We spent almost one hour inside.

This was such a historical place and definitely worth a visit. It was part of a tour, so not sure the cost normally. We were met by a guide in period costume who explained a lot of the history that it had been a prison. We got to see the converted cells - and it was definitely not somewhere you wanted to be. A nice old library - quaint. The stairs are narrow and uneven - so might be a problem for those with mobility issues.

Worth every penny for the tour. If you come in December like we did bundle up in an extra layer. The walking tour is about 1.5 hours and mostly outside. Stunning views and great history here.

The promenade takes you from Dufferin terrace all the way to the back of the Citadel. It is a long walk, so make sure you have comfortable shoes. I liked that is full of wildlife: we saw many birds, squirrels and even a small snake.

Well maintained, is bears the name of the 'gouverneurs' who used to have their walk here.

Great views over the water and Lower town in the distance.

The Old Port is a picturesque part of Quebec. It is a really lovely area in which to take a stroll and just enjoy yourself. There are all types of shops, from restaurants and bars to gift shops and everything else you would wish for. And there is the river and the boats and the beautiful scenery. You wouldn't want to miss it.

If you enjoy tobogganing a high speeds this is the attraction for you. We enjoyed the ride. Would have rode it more if it had not been so cold and windy the day we were there. The staff were friendly: at the bottom making sure everyone got a toboggan in an orderly fashion; at the top gaving instructions in a clear, consise manner.
