We entered on the side of Napoleon's tomb and enjoyed going over the history. The gift shop sells small booklets on historical figures for children which the kids enjoyed. We exited on the North side and read the history along the way. Beautiful monument and resting place for the injured soldiers. A lovely monument in the heart of Paris with a noble purpose.

We did not allow enough time to visit this huge place! The Dome and crypt with Napolean's tomb are impressive, the audio tour was great. We visited the large display area about the French resistence during WWII....wish there were more plaques in English, but it was still very good. The audio tour just does not include everything that is there! We had museum tix for the afternoon, so had to leave. I am really sorry we did not have time for the other parts of this museum!

Went to see the WWI and WWII museum which was closed from Jan to June (no signage at admission - thanks very much) so got shut out. Opted for the Medieval armor collection which was so over the top. No doubt biggest in the world. You can walk past the windowed storerooms and see literally scores of full suits of armor, hundreds of helmets, spears, swords, axes. Who knew!!

We were very limited on time so really only saw the tomb of Napolean and Saint Louis Cathedral. We did not mind paying the admission just for that area but would love to have had time more time to see the rest of the museum. We might have rearranged our plans had the WW1/WW2 exhibits but unfortunately those areas were closed for refurbishment. I think that even if military history is not your area of interest, you would find much to interest you here.

I enjoyed my time here. I got there when it opened and had no problem in terms of waiting or crowds. Inside, I marveled at the collection of antique arms and armor. The WW1 and WW2 sections were breathtaking. I wish I had time to see some of the other parts of this museum complex. Be advised: Many of the different sections here require separate tickets but the Paris museum pass covers all of them.

The building is out of this world, the detail is incredible. It is a mixture of a museum and two magnificent churches. You will need at least 3 days to visit, the time they suggest is completely unrealistic. There is so much to see it is overwhelming. There is an exhibition about the brave people of the resistance and the liberation of France, absolutely fascinating. There is a whole basement dedicated to General De Gaulle. If like me you are English, then you may not have been taught much about the part Churchill played with General DeGaul, with the Resistance and the liberation of France in London for 4 years. If you get the audio, be aware that there is absolutely tons in it, and very messy. There is no particular order and difficult to follow. Also, the audio only covers some cabinets in the museum, so if you cannot read French, then will only be able to look at other items on display. I will definitely be going again as I was not able to see everything this time round in the time we had.

The grounds and architecture are amazing. The World Wars Exhibits are very well done and the collection of artifacts, uniforms, firearms and photos are the best I have ever seen in a military museum. Learned a lot about French President DeGaulle he was a true leader and gave his country hope.Thank God though for the USA to come and save Europe from Hitler. Also in France they are very proud of Napoleon and his tomb is only dwarfed by the Pyramids in Egypt. .

The building is so beautiful and Napoleon's tomb is incredible. Your pictures won't fully capture it! It's also a military museum so there's a lot more to see than just the tomb. I strongly recommend you set aside more time than you think to fully explore. The only section we were not a fan of was the interactive digital exhibit for Charles de Gaulle. It felt overwhelming and hard to read everything with so much going on.

I have spent much of my childhood in Paris and also travelled frequently as an adult yet I had never seen Napolean’s tomb. The museum was closed until 1400 hours due to Macron having a special event but once inside the queue was quite reasonable. I had the opportunity to visit musée de l’armee but due to spending 3 hours in the area waiting for the museum to open, I opted to go straight to Les Invalides. As I walked in, I was in utter awe of the beauty and power of the space. It was opulent, classically stunning and just had an amazing presence to it. The gold, the design the workmanship was truly a sight to behold and I was blown away. It exceeded any expectations that I had. The next time I am back in Paris, I shall visit the museum.

This was the best thing we saw in Paris. Endless things to see. The Dome and tomb were spectacular. The museum was superb. The bit about Napoleon in the museum kept going. Great if you have family who have an interest in it. You get to the end of one section and there is another huge section to look at.
