Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden to Windsor Castle this morning.
"A pleasure to welcome The Crown Princess of Sweden and Prince Daniel to Windsor this morning," the Prince and Princess of Wales wrote on social media after the visit:
For the occasion, the Princess of Wales wore a green Emilia Wickstead dress, while Princess Victoria opted for a red tweed jacket from Alice + Olivia. Both princes looked sharp in suits.
This was a reunion of sorts for the two royal couples. Previously, William and Kate—then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge—visited Sweden in 2018, and undertook numerous engagements with the Swedish crown prince couple. In addition, earlier this year, Princess Victoria accompanied her father, King Carl XVI Gustaf, to the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla, where she likely crossed paths with William and Kate.
Prince William and Princess Victoria are the heirs to the UK and Swedish thrones—and distant relatives, as both royal families trace their heritages back to England's Queen Victoria.
The Swedish royals are in the UK for a few days undertaking numerous engagements. They kicked off their visit yesterday at the Three Blackbirds Pub, Woodditton, where they discussed English pub culture and heard a presentation about East Anglia during their visit, and then went to STANTA training camp in eastern England. Tonight, Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel will join the Prince and Princess of Wales at the annual Royal Variety Performance at London's Royal Albert Hall to watch Cher perform.
